What a great game and great memories. I loved the 2006 season. Seemed like so much promise going forward--great coaching staff, grown-ups and professionals marginalizing the amateurs in the front office and then we found a franchise QB.

But that feeling of hope was dashed within a couple of months. Bill retires, Jerry takes back full control, hires Garrett before he hires a head coach, and when he does hire a head coach, its Wade Phillips, all of which ushered in yet another decade of futility and wasted the career of that promising, franchise qb, aka "the Miracle."

You're skipping over some good stuff with that one-sided assessment there.

He sounds like he has been miserable for such a long time. Since the end of 2006? Wow. That's a lot of life. *shrugs shoulders* Oh well.

Give me a break. My assessment of the Cowboys has nothing to do with whether I am happy or miserable. Spare me your amateur psychologizing. This is probably a little to nuanced for you, but some of us can view the world (and the Cowboys) with a critical eye and still lead happy, productive lives.

If I were to engage in the same lazy, ad hominem attacks as you, I would say that your life is so empty and depressing, your fandom so fragile, that you have to believe everything is sunshine and rainbows for your favorite football team.

2006 was a frustrating year, anyway. 9-7, and it was the year we blew the SEA playoff game. The 2007, 2009, and 2014 seasons were all more fun, and even the 8-8 years had some pretty good football games in them.

Parcels screwed the pooch in the 2006 playoffs, as far as I'm concerned, and then left the club high and dry re: his replacement because he took so long to make his decision. He did a lot of good stuff for the Cowboys when he was here, but people forget it was a mixed bag.

Cbz40 was the best thing that has ever happened for this site--with respect to @Reality, of course. :p

I was at that game in Carolina. Romo looked great from what I recall. He had a few shaky plays early on but really came out strong in the second half.

Read before his 1st regular season start (don't know which thread), someone compared Romo to Brett Farve and predicted his career would be similar. The guy was bashed left and right for making a comparison.

Is Hostile gone (left forum) too? Or is he under a new handle?

As a devoted Dallas Cowboys Fan? Yes, miserable is probably the right word. Beaten Down, Disenchanted, cynical, apathetic.....those words would also apply. How could you not be?

I will say, the Cowboys are very , very entertaining though.....which is probably why they have a great profit margin..... And maybe, it just doesn't matter beyond that. Profit/Entertainment....That's what counts here;

its just not that big of a deal these days. So what, we are perennial losers......

of course that only applies to the Dallas Cowboys Fan section of my time/existence.
