all of you who are totally trashing Norv are gonna look like complete buttclowns if he does become successful. If he fails yall will be able go gloat your tails off.......but if he succeeds, there will be plenty of crow to go around.

i like Norv......I like him as a OC......I also like Campo as a DC. Not sure I want Norv as a HC, but also not sure that I don't. At this point I am indifferent.

I wanted Phillips here if we were gonna stay 3-4.....but if we are for sure going back to 4-3...I will be cool with having Campo back. Campo is a great DC and his players go balls out for him.

I am just glad Parcells is gone. I was never a fan of his.

Be it Garrett or Turner or both together I think they will put anything from a 10-6 to 12-4 team on the field next season.

I liked Parcells when we hired him. I thought he would get us turned around. In a way he has, as most would agree our tallent base is much better now than when he got here.

But, by the end, I was glad when he retired, because I just dont think he was the same coach as he was in NY and NE, and I thought our team suffered a lot because of that. I have no idea if Norv will be succesful or not (assuming he's our guy) but I will certainly root for him.

I think a lot of people are writing him off too early. With the talent we have, I would imagine he should do much better here than in previous stints. As I mentioned in another thread, I am sure Norv has learned a thing or 2 since his first job as a head coach. Hopefully that can translate to sucess here.

I hope Turner proves me wrong. However, I have seen him coach, and I have seen his results, expecting that somehow he almost doubles his career winning percentage next year is just silly. I have watched football long enough to know that turds like Turner dont miraculously become good just because they join your favorite team.

You never know. Maybe something about Big D will inspire him to greatness (a reach I know). Sometimes you just get in the right situation and things work really good for you (Like Jimmy in the 90's, a lot of things fell into place for us to become the dynasty we were).

Maybe, just maybe things are right for Norv here and he will be succesful. If he IS our guy, we all better hope that's the case.

just for the record, it will not matter how great of an offensive mind Norv(and Garrett) has. If he doesn't find a DC to right the ship on that side of the ball, we will be lucky if the 'Boys go 8-8.

That's if he is even hired. Everybody is jumping the gun as if it's 100% that he will get the job. Personally, I am done speculating who will be the new HC for the Dallas Cowboys until I see the press conference that has the official announcement.

Let us examine the most talented team he ever had on his hands was the 1999 Washington Commanders who went 10-6 and won the division and a wildcard game.

He has had to deal with Congressman Heath Shuler, Gus Ferotte,Trent "I hate Kurt Warner" Green, Brad Johnson (the lone savy vet), Jeff "Psycho" George, Kerry "the reformed alcoholic" Collins, Alex Smith.

Note that only Johnson had success with Turner, Smith has shown strides, Green left in free agency, George is looney, Ferotte is a sixth round pick who plays like one, Heath Shuler is now a congressman (this should be a gauge on the brain capacity).

I dare you to win with this list of quarterbacks.

If he is successful people can crow all they want because if the COwboys are winning I dont care

Now if the most likely scenario happens and he fails a 3rd time, I wont gloat, because him failing means the COwboys failure and there is nothing in that worth gloating about

I wanted Parcells and Zimmer gone and they are.

I'm not mad.

I will be a little disappointed if Norv comes in since we obviously need some defensive help but I have been quiet as of late.

I was willing to give anyone a shot since BP couldnt take us to the next level so anyone to me is worth it.

I'm not gonna be a critic on this move what so ever.

Lets just hope it all works out well and we can actually utilize all our talents on this team.

Shuler can be assigned to him, he coveted him but in all fairness the bottom tier of the league was smitten with him much like Ryan Leaf four years later.

Mr.Snyder in all his wisdom was responsible for Green not being resigned although Turner wisely said to pursue Johnson in his absence, then Johnson bolted town and the mighty armed Jeff George led a flock of geriatric free agents into the nation's capital to buy the Super Bowl for ol' Danny boy.

Danny boy was reduced to singing Boy George's "Do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry?" by season's end.

Turner was the scapegoat of his meddling.

Kerry Collins was shaking martinis on the sideline and then dropping back to get sacked, Davis dismissed Turner for reasons beyond his finite control, such as the general managership.

My hand and wit were tired. Writing an expose about all that is wrong with the Commanders is fruitless and oxymoronic, it is a three act play titled "Mr.Snyder Goes to Washington".

Are you serious? Turner sucked for years before Snyder and was lucky to still be employed when Snyder took over the team.

Nonsense my friend he commanded potent offenses in both San Diego and Miami. His reputation was tarnished by Washington but even the Hall of Famer Joe Gibbs has felt the wrath of that train wreck, so did Schottenheimer.

If a person bets on an event that has a 9 in 10 chance of happening and the event doesn't happen, he doesn't look like a fool for betting, does he?

get me on record, I hate the hiring, I think it's bad, but if he proves me wrong, then so be it, my problem w/ all this is Norv is an offensive coach, our O is fine, moreso than that in fact, our D is what needs fixing, and who is going to do that since most of the good D coordinators won't be making lateral moves to come here? we'll get denied permission on the spot, most of our team's money and draft picks have been assigned to the D, and right now, we have a 3-4 defensive backs coach in line for the job

my biggest problem is those who just couldn't wait for Parcells to leave, who are now rooting for Norv "Never Was" Turner, change is good, but Norv freakn' Turner?!!
