watched the game and was afraid to watch because of all the posts I read.

While there are certainly things to be critical of and the defense seems to be shooting themselves in the foot like last year, I saw a lot of good stuff. Like

Miles Austin!!! Yeah baby, he reminded me of Alvin Harper reaching out and plucking those balls out of the air. I was really optimistic about him last year seeing how much speed he has and the ability to get separation from defenders. I was just hoping to see he had learned how to catch. Well, not only has he learned how to catch, but he is really attacking the ball and snatching balls out of the air. The change is quite remarkable.

I sure hope he is OK because I think we might have a pretty good player and I love the idea that we dont have to make some big trade to get a guy in here to play receiver. It also makes me feel better about our player analysis and development which is so important for our future. I don't want to be good for a few years, I long for another 20 year run like the Landry days but if we can't identify and develop talent, then our window will close pretty quick.

I also think it might be good that they are struggling in preseason because I can't help but wonder if these guys haven't been buying into all the hype and think they can just lace em up and get another 13-3 record. The NFL is too tough and too competitive to think you can just show up and be rewarded with a "W". Plus, given all the pre-season kudos, every team will be gunning for them even more than they normally do. They'll need their best every week if they have any hope of reaching their goals.

Lastly, we are still not seeing the team or the game plan that will open the season. So, while I wish we could go out there and just blow everyone away (pre or regular season), I'd rather the staff be testing situations and players when it doesn't matter so we can line up the best team when W & L's really count.

Chins up and I'm optimistic that these partly cloudy skies won't culminate in a thunderstorm in the regular season.

Yep austin did do his best alvin harper tonight! Man I hope he is ok.

The player that stood out to me for the second week in a row is scandrick. He participates in nearly all units. HE was about .25 of a second from blocking a field goal and he almost broke a kick return.

I love scandrick. I dont understand why jenkins isnt out there getting just as much time and experience. I know this though, scandrick is going to force his way onto the field in some way during the season.

Does anybody know if Canty is ok? Did return and play?
He did not return but wanted to. The coaches told him to sit down.
