Hi Everybody -
My nine year old son and i will be attending our first Cowboys game!!!

Last night, a friend at work (I live/work in NY) was selling his two season tickets to tomorrow's game so I picked them up for face value ($80 each).

I've been a Cowboys fan since Staubach and Dorsett, but never seen them in person.

Are there any other Cowboy fans going to the game? Or been to a previous game in NY? If so, how "bad" are they on opposing fans? And what can I expect. I just don't want any trouble with with my nine year old boy, because he will be cheering (innocently) if/when the Cowboys do well.

Many Thanks! Peter

Great! Enjoy the game and :welcome: to the board!

Im going to the game too!

I live in NJ so I go often when they come to NY.

The fans are not too bad. Just dont say anything, dont turn around and point at people and yell etc. The obvious stuff.

I used to go with my dad all the time when I was kid no one said anything. One Giant fan told my dad he raised me wrong. But that was it.

But as for asking if theyre Cowboys fans here? Dude NJ/NY area has a TON of Dallas fans. One MNF game in 1995, I think it was 95? The game when Deion ran back a punt for a TD there were hands down more Dallas fans in that stadium. You'll be safe, there are so many Dallas fans here its not even funny.

Pete i will be going as well and i have been to many giants/cowboys games in ny! One thing i cant stress enough is dress VERY WARM!!! Layer on the clothes! It is very windy at this stadium. I went a few years back and 3 hours after the game i was home and still couldn't feel my feet because i wore sneakers and only one pair of socks. Don't be afraid to wear cowboys gear the fans aren't to bad. you might hear a few things said but they won't say it to your son. Also get there extra early if you don't have a parking pass cause i hear parking is a nightmare. My firend went two weeks ago and he said he had to park in alot 3 miles from the stadium then take two seperate trollies to get to the stadium and it took a hour... HAVE FUN AND GO BOYS!!!

I will concur that parking is a major problem as the new stadium occupies most of the old parking lot. I hope your first game is a beat down loss to the GMen, but have fun anyway, meadowlands is safe, for the most part.

The fans are not bad at Giants stadium. A friend and myself were the only Cowboy fans in a section. We cheered when the Cowboys did well, and no one said anything.

I went to the Cowboys/Giants game in December 06, and there was honestly a ton of Cowboys fans.

It's a great stadium. I was in the very top row (literally). My back was against the cement wall. Believe it or not I could see just fine, even really well. I don't think there's a bad seat in that stadium.

You'll have a great time.

I can't speak to the parking issues as they hadn't broken ground yet when I went in '06.

Should be a great first game to go to! Let's hope that we get the win to make it that much sweeter. Definitely something your son (and you) will always remember.

Enjoy! And GO BOYS!

Have fun and give an extra yell for me!

I wore my Cowboy hat there back in 2005 and was perfectly safe, but it was a Jets/Vikings game so it probably doesn't count.

Have a great time at the game.. Hopefully, you and your son will leave the stadium happy after the game/win .. :star:

You kidding? I'm expecting to see lots of Cowboy nation representing Sunday.

Hopefully you will have many opportunities to yell and scream at the game. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the great responses! Cowboy's Nation looks to be well represented tomorrow at the stadium. See you all there! Peter
