Just my view on the game.....

I know it was just a preseason game but just a few things Ive noticed...


I dont know if I am in a believer in this defence.....I dont know if its coaching or players are just playing like its a preseason game but.....

it plays soft.....the texans had inexperienced lineman playing and I thought they did a great job in pushing our guys around.

Our offence looks good.......I hope Bennett does improve because I think he could become a real difference maker.

I really hate zone defence and I dont know why our corners are always letting the WR catch the ball.......I know....doesnt help that we have no pass rush

You take away Ware...Ellis and Spencer and our LB's IMHO are poor......Zach has lost a step and the backups....especially Carp will not become starters here.....really disappointed in the group tonight.

Stanback should never return Kicks.......I really was rooting for this kid.....but he always gets dinged up and carries that ball like a loaf of bread.....he may have all the physical skills....even tho I dont see that speed we all hear about but this kid either needs some luck or I just had to much hope in him....again....really disappointed with his play...they very little he played.

I like that kid Scandrick and Pacman will be a weapon on punt returns.

Our special teams coverage is really bad.....Im officially on the get rid of Read bandwagon.


Hopefully we can play with some fire come opening day.....especially on defence.....with all the money spent....with all the high picks made....this defence is really a disappointment.......

I can't disagree more about Thomas. He's been outstanding in what little time he's played.

First, absolutely loved Pacman tonight. Locked down on his man all night. The one reception he surrendered was on a fluke tip pass. Had it not been tipped, and thus directed higher and over his head, looked like he had the break on it to break it up at the very least.

As to the defense itself, I agree. Soft. Looked strong early but really regressed from there. The line generally gets no pressure in the passing game, it was getting eaten alive in the running game and Henry plays so far off that receivers had an easy time getting catches.

It certainly could be that they're playing vanilla and all that. We have to hope. But you'd like to see more aggression, attacking -- something. And I'm not talking blitzing.

And to add on Stanback..Didn't like the fumble..didn't like him getting dinged. But he IS dynamic when the ball is in his hands. I'm blown away people say they don't see his speed, or say he has no wiggle. He showed them both in a huge way tonight. If only he could be healthy.

That one play where the texan player got injured. If you watch when they were replaying that part ...look at Stanback and I don't know how in the heck he did not break his ankles getting out of that potential tackle. It was quite amazing.

Bennett caught one pass. That's a heck of an evaluation off one catch.

Zach Thomas didn't wrap up on a tackle but overall I think he's been very good, at least he's getting in the plays. I think Orlando Scandrick will be the number 4 CB, he's going to be a good one.
