Just remember that the Jets have a top-five defense in the NFL

The problem that everyone on the glass half full size isn’t understanding, has the offense improved? The question is valid due to we still aren’t playing complimentary football. Was the jets defense good, well we think so, but truly have no idea, they were last year, but this year is a new year. We couldn’t convert a few first down so we don’t keep putting our defense out there back to back to back. This against a good team will lead to gassed defense and perpetual injuries, losses, and more excuses blacking the defense when the problem is inability to move the ball and sustain drives. Being conservative means pounding the rock, burning clock, and offense staying on the field doing their part. These are just my concerns not complaints, we got another win and are 2-0.

I’m not going to second-guess Mike Murray’s game plan. It’s working I’m happy. If we needed a touchdown, I’m positive it would’ve been called differently.
I agree completely. He's playing situational football. Like coaches should do. We didn't need 7 every time against the Jets. Against the Jets, you don't want to risk losing the 3. That's how I saw it.

Are we going to prop up the 0-2 Cardinals defense next week if the offense still struggles to get the ball in the end zone?
The Cowboys weren’t really even trying to score on the last two red zone trips. They were content taking the FGs because there was no way the Jets could win without help at that point.

No. We should score four offensive touchdowns, bare minimum. I'll have a problem if the Giants score four TDs and we're unable to. I'll criticize them if they struggle punching it in again.

For the most part? Cowboys held the ball for 42 minutes, no turnovers and about an 80% completion percentage! For the most part.
Dak's missed throw in the back of the end zone, settling for four field goals in the red zone, a couple of quick three-and-outs... I'm just saying it wasn't a perfect game. Still work to do. We could've easily hung 40 on them.

I will personally send you $10 if this Jets defense doesn't at least finish the season top-10, which would qualify as good. Since your hesitant about giving our offense praise, I'd say this defense's floor is good and it's ceiling is elite. Potentially top three. Studs all around. So, 30 points against a good defense qualifies as a reason to be optimistic IMO.

I'd argue the offense has played complimentary football and by doing so has blunted some of its attack. In both games, we've switched to a very vanilla game style with the result in the bag before the 4th quarter.

MM had a plan. He wanted to give Aubrey some work, build his confidence. :muttley:

Yeah, fans need to remember, Jets defense is good, and scoring inside the 10 on good defense, you do not have a lot of room to work with. It gets tight down there.
This is where we miss that big end zone threat. We have not had one since Dez and Witten. Even then Witten fell off his last several years.
OMG you mean the field goal kicker everyone said they had no confidence in and wasn't gonna be good and that Jerry's leaving our team open for a very weak spot when he could just bring in Mason Crosby or Robbie Gould by the way do either of them have a job right now? Do we go through this every year we're in the offseason in Cowboys fans overreact and let us all know that they think Jerry's a buffoon and Mike McCarthy they don't know how to put together a team and that they're being cheap at positions and then look what happens you have one of the better field goal kickers in the game the first two games I'm not saying he's great I'm saying he's been kicking like a professional I mean I don't know of anybody who's better I'd have to go look at it because I don't watch all the kickers in all the games but it looks like they made the right choice...

But yes I agree with your reply 100%..

By the way I believe schoonmaker is gonna be that guy he looked like that guy he just needs some time he's a rookie... I also believe more of that problem we had down there is yes we were one of the better front sevens on defense last night had us a little bit playing conservative in the red zone however also using our number three guard at left guard and having Zach Martin dinged up and going in and out of the game I believe I mean not having Brandon cooks the early in the season no preseason..

I'm pretty sure we're doing pretty well with all that talk before the year started that we should have played in preseason... Also that was said besides we didn't have a good kicker we didn't have enough hmm no depth on the offensive line and we were going to be rusty with no PS and we were going to miss Kellen Moore...:muttley::popcorn:I don't believe any of that is true we busted all those narratives in the first two games just like last year historically bad offseason turned into a second round playoff berth.

Or the 70 -10-point differential the first two games had it having to utilize our depth along the offensive line adjusting to a new offense no preseason...

I mean that qualifies as being optimistic.

2-0 is all THAT MATTERS

An average of 29 points a game is very relevant on it's own...

have a top-five defense in the NFL and beat Buffalo after losing Aaron Rodgers four plays into their first game. This team was 7-4 at one point last year with arguably a bottom-3 QB situation in the league. They're legit on one side of the ball, and the Cowboys held their own... for the most part.

Conservative play-calling in the red zone, but you need to do that when their offense is generating next to nothing and the only way to assist them is by leaving points on the board. Well done by MM and Co. today!
JUST REMEMBER WE WERE AT HOME and had the home God's with us!! Their WR may have been better at home

I still am thinking SF defense is better yet. Philadelphia is still to be seen.

The object was to get to a 2 score lead and maintain it. The only way the Jets would win that game was it being a 1 score game and them score on a long fluke play like their long TD, or giving them a very short field on a turnover.

The Cowboys came back after their TD and answered pushing it back it back to a 2-score lead. After that, the Cowboys just needed to add points of any kind.

I don’t know if they just don’t understand, I don’t know if they want to understand. I don’t know if they’re capable of understanding.
You take what you need. You don’t have to get greedy. He called the game as the game seems fit. It surprises me especially the older fans the comprehension.
Great post. And to piggyback, not trying to force the points like our old OC. Putting Dak in situations that cause him to force throws and turn the ball over. The one thing that allows teams to get back in the game. I don’t care if we kick 50 field goals, if it puts points on the board , we control the clock and don’t turn the ball over.

For the life of me, I can't understand why people don't see this.
