Just so my sometimes bias is better understood...

I know members who have been on this forum for years may have seen me talk about a certain QB for a division rival in passing, but I honestly have always tried to keep it low key. It sucks that one of my life long best friends is going to be a thorn in the side of the team I have loved my entire life, but it is what it is.

Just wanted to post this so if sometime in the future, I defend this guy, you know why it is. Yes I am the token white guy.

That's friggin sweet man. Good for you. Your bias will be tolerated by me (As long as you get him to get me tickets to games).

He's sharing something really cool with you. Probably my wasn't expecting snark in reply.

That's really cool, Dawgs. Thanks for sharing it.

Pretty cool man. Not a whole lot of people can say they are very close personal friends of an nfl quarterback

RG3 is a guy that's hard not to like. Fun to watch his talents on the field and he looks to have great character off the field as well. Wish he was wearing a star on his helmet but that's the NFL. As a DC fan, I don't think it's wrong to admire talents of your competitors in fact I have learned to appreciate we'll managed teams much like well managed corporations throughout the USA. I guess I have a respect for those that work hard to perfect themselves in their craft whether it's on the right or left side of the isle.

The bachelor party was in Vegas the weekend before. We stayed out until at least 5 am Fri and Sat. and I am NOT joking, he was up at 8 to catch a limo to UNLV to workout, and wouldn't get back until 12. It's been that way since Jr. High. He drank not one ounce of alcohol the entire time, straight Fiji water.

The difference between good and elite ^^^

So basically you are just trying to tell us that you are really good friends with RGIII?

Nailed it.

And anybody has a problem with that, why?

Just so all y'all know, any NFL player's wedding I'm a groomsman in, I'm letting you know about it. You can ask me questions about it and I'll answer them and everything. Even if I secretly suspect there will be some jealous backlash from it.

Wow. Brush with greatness, internet style. Good luck to RG3 in his marriage, life and professional career (except when playing the Cowboys).:p

RGIII is a nice guy and a damn good athlete. Such a shame he ended up with the Commanders, but it doesn't make him any less likable.

I agree. He's just really fun to watch play...in the same way Tony Romo is, only he's a lot younger. And he sure seems to be a great guy to have on a team during the week, as well. I really like the player a lot and credit the Sk*ns for a massively risky move to go up and get him.

I dont have a problem with it, its pretty cool.

It should have just been a story about partying with RGIII though, not a reason for bias. Nothing in the OP mentions RGIII, so its not until you click the pick that you know, so its like a big surprise. I just thought the delivery was weird, b/c, deep down, nobody really cares about Dawgs' bias....

Don't worry about it ldgit, it comes with it. People are going to be jealous, it's no skin off my back.

Fair enough.

I just don't like seeing cool stuff like this dumped on, whether the delivery is 'weird' or not. He could just as easily have not shared this, if he were concerned about potential backlash, and then we'd have all missed out on --not just a cool story today--but maybe a lot of cool 'insider' stories down the road.

I think it's really cool that our fellow posters have connections like this, and I feed my addiction on little tidbits that don't make it into news stories elsewhere. Sure, I'd prefer Dawg make some friends who are Cowboys, but I'll take any brush with NFL royalty at this point of a long offseason.

Good. It shouldn't be. I just hope other posters with cool stories (and this is a really cool little story) feel the same way.

No need to defend or justify (in advance) your allegiance to a friend. Cheer for him as your friend but boo him as a Commander. :D As a former Baylor Bear, I cheer for him as well when he is not playing the Cowboys.

I think it's awesome that OP is a very good friend with RGIII, in reality how many of us football fans can say we can be a groomsman with a NFL starting QB and party with him, obviously not many.

Having said that, I hope RGIII get his arse handed to him every time we play Commanders.
