The last four times Trent Green faced a Wade Phillips coached defense...

2005

Week 8: 347 yards, 2 TDs, no ints - sacked 4 times (lost 28-20)

Week 16: 207 yards, 2 TDs, no ints - sacked 2 times (won 20-7)

2004

Week 12: 208 yards, 1 int - sacked 1 time (lost 34-31)

Week 17: 373 yards, 1 TD, 4 ints - sacked zero times (lost 24-17)

Not pointing to anything good or bad with this. Just thought it would be something to think about.

I think those stats sum up Trent Green quite well: good passer who can put up big yards, but prone to the occasional nightmare game (I was surprised he hadn't been sacked more.)

Our Pass Defense is ranked 31st in the NFL.

And our offense is ranked #1 in the NFL.

Both of those facts are because we've only played one game this season and it was a shootout with a final score of 45-35 and over 900 yards of total offense for both teams.

Do you really think it's going to stay that way?

The New Orleans Saints are ranked 31st in scoring defense. Do you think it'll stay that way?

After week 1 you shouldn't look at team rankings and take very much away from them. It's just looking at 1 game, against 1 opponent.

Those KC offensive lines that he played behind were awesome.

I would tend to agree with you...except...

Last year we finished 24th in Pass Defense.

That was with Newman playing.

The Cowboys should be able to get some pressure on Green (he's not particularly elusive and his OL isn't particularly good). I'd guess that it'll get ugly for Green if the Dolphins fall behind.

I went to many of those games then at Arrowhead, and yes they were ok, back then.

You seemingly have all the answers.

All the answers... except one for the question posed in the post linked in my signature line.

Rich Eisen would be so disappointed in you. :(

Green reminds be of Old Man Bledsoe. Totally over the hill and somehow still getting paid. He's going to be harassed, knocked dowm, scared, nervous and look like chris simms w/ happy feet. We take an INT to the house IMO.

I have a good feeling about this game.:)

Ware and Spears are going to give him nasty flashbacks of that hit Geathers laid on him last season.

You forgot his game against the Chargers in '06. He was none too impressive. 23/41 185 yds 0 TDs 1 INT. And he was sacked 6 times.

Passing yards are usually a sign that the team was playing from behind. A better indicator of how good a defense is is 3rd down conversion % and avg. yards per run. We still aren't very high in those areas but at least we are not last.

You're right. For some reason I thought he had went on IR last year so I didn't check the second game.

Depends on what type of offense you're facing. Some teams just like to throw the ball more then they run it (ex. Eagles).

So he is good for 3 TD's (one with 2 pt conv.)per game against Wade's OTHER defenses...
