Twitter: Justin Durant cleared for offseason workouts

He has replied to me on twitter a few times. I like the guy.

I like Durant and he was playing VERY well for us before the injury. My primary concern is the nature of the injury - for whatever reason I feel like town biceps and pecs tend to stop a lot of people for a while. Maybe I'm biased by Brian Orakpo.

Easy to like Durant, hope they bring him back. Shouldn't be expensive at all considering he's been hurt two years in a row.

I think the best thing about Durant is that he can play pretty much any LB spot...even the middle if we get in a serious pickle.

With he and Hitchens both in the rotation as subs, we've got 6 spots filled by just 5 guys. That allows us to keep a Watson or Lawrence for STs and not worry about them having to see the field, even if there is an injury or two.

He might want to see what offers he gets in FA because the offer from the Cowboys is likely to be low.

Cowboys may also find someone else as a FA, then Durant ends up in Jacksonville or Cleveland, when he could have been here on a better team for not that much difference in pay.
It's a chance on both sides, all the way around.

I like Durant because he already knows this system, should come cap friendly due to age and injury, very versatile in this LB core.
When you find a good fit you try and keep it, I want Durant back he is good for this defense.

Nice analysis

another unreliable LB,why are we plagued with these guys who just cant stay healthy?

Really hope he comes back to the Cowboys. He might not be spectacular but he was pretty solid. Mane.

He and Scandrick were our best defenders for a chunk of the season last year. He's a perfect fit for us, and a veteran who's going to appreciate some stability and a decent payday. I think we ought to pay him a reasonable wage and keep him off the market.

I bet he gets a contract that's richer than most CZ fans expect it to be. To the general dismay. Especially if we can't get an incentive-laden deal done with R. McClain, too, and the younger, more popular player walks. But give me Durant if we can only keep one of those two guys.
