Ive seen two mocks recently that had Dallas choosing Jefferson at 17!! How 'bout that. One coach was reported by Bucky Brooks as saying" Jefferson is one of the best wr he's studied over 40 years .

How would you feel if Dallas did choose Jefferson to put this offense into a rare stratosphere. ?
And if they did, then addressed the defense over the rest of the dfraft.

I gotta say , I'm coming around to this way of thinking.

Interesting possibilities.

Would jump for joy.

But expect to see him in green next year

Not a huge fan of WR either in the first.

Cowboys have a #1 and #2 already in Cooper and Gallup.

But, it'll depend on BPA, who else is on the board and if no good trade down options exist.

It would be smart and force the 8th man out of the box...

Pass. I see him as a slot only player for the most part and that’s where basically all of his success has come from.

I might view it different than others, but if I’m taking a WR in the top 20 they need #1 potential which I don’t think he has.

Lamb and Juedy would be easy decisions, and Reagor is a maybe.

Thanks Cnuball I resepct your feeling on Jefferson as a wide out No.1 But, Reagor would stand in line to hold Jeffersons jock. In a run heavy offense in 2018 Jefferson indeed showed against teams like Alabama that he is dangerous outside.
Players like J Chase weren't suited for slot work and so Jefferson showing his versatility slipped inside. Under Brady the pass offense exploded and Jefferson benefited as did everyone else.
Admittedly I think Dallas goes another route at 17. But it would be interesting to see our offense with Jefferson.

Well considering Dallas needs a slot, that seems fine.

Though I think Jefferson can play outside anyway.

I’d disagree. I think Reagor is more explosive, has better game speed and has shown he can win outside playing way bigger than his size.

I like Jefferson, but he literally played almost 100% of his snaps from the slot last year so there’s some unknown in how good his game is outside. I think he can be a great slot WR but I’m not taking that in the 1st.

He played outside in '18, although obviously not nearly as effective.

But if he becomes a yearly 1,000 yard, 8 TD receiver from the slot, does it matter if he can win outside?

Reagor is not in Jeffersons league

Sure but how far outside of the norm is that? I’d imagine he’d be down the list of looks in Dak going through progressions.

You can get quality slot WRs in the 4th/5th round . Not as good as JJ but to me it’s about maximizing value.

He is my pick. I know it won’t happen though.

Great hands. Good route runner. YAC...check. High IQ. Adds a 3rd weapon, stretches and spreads the field while already being a match up nightmare.

What’s not to like?

2nd or 3rd at worst. Cobb gave you 55 catches for 828 last year in 15 games. Jefferson gives Dak a catch radius in the slot he never had with Cobb or Beasley.

Dak's going to be slinging it at a high volume with MM, so this offense can sustain three 1,000 yard receivers. Almost happened last year.

I would like it. I could see it happening if Chaisson, CJH, and Terrell are gone by our pick.

That's fine , I'm ok to throw it more...but we drafted a RB in the top 5 and paid him to be a bell cow back for this O. As of now we're built to be a run heavy O and sling it off of that. I'm not saying I agree with this, bc I think RB's are easy to replace and you shouldn't draft them in the 1st OR pay them 10+ million, but that's where we are.

If we're overhauling the offense then we need to talk about getting Zeke's contract off our hands.
