I agree with you there you can never have enough kickers! If we would have made this move earlier by cutting Maher earlier we would probably be in the playoffs now but that's all behind us now.

Exactly. There's a reason why he's been released by 7 different teams, including Dallas back in 2011.

He tends to be streaky, so we absolutely should at least bring in competition. It's an atrocity that they didn't bring in someone to compete with Maher for camp. Whoever's decision that was deserves to have his decision-making power taken away. If Garrett didn't push for competition, that's enough of a reason to fire him.
