After being traded to the Cowboys in March, cornerback Kaiir Elam has kept his head down and gone to work with his new team in Dallas ahead of his fourth NFL season with a much-needed fresh start.

“I feel like the energy here is something I’ve never been a part of,” Elam said. “I love the enthusiasm, and also I would just say the energy from the coaching staff, they actually make you feel like they care, and that’s something that’s very exciting.”

The thing is, Elam isn't that bad in the first place. He was about average in Buffalo. It's just they spent a 1st round pick on him.
This kid hasn't played badly at all........in fact, he was pretty solid, especially his rookie season. I'm not what happened with the Bills but we may have lucked onto a starter.

Fingers crossed.......lol

From what I can tell, he was solid in his rookie season but got off to a slow start in his second season, lost some confidence, and ultimately landed in the coach's doghouse and never recovered.

I probably have higher expectations for Elam than most. Cowboys were lucky to get him. Good CB that can really play in this league. VERY underrated get for them who will fill an important role.
He's played some good ball......... check this out

Bills' defensive coordinator the last three years ( remember Elam was drafted in 2022)
2022.....Leslie Frazier ( resigned after the season)
2023 ....Sean McDermott was head and DC
2024.....former LBer coach, Bobby Babich, was promoted

LOL.....no no wonder the kid is saying he loves the energy here. Sounds like things went south for him after Frazier resigned.

Did you see him in the Bills playoff game?

Not good.

Hope for better days ahead.

I was happy with this move. We needed more at this position and at a reasonable cost.

I’m hopeful he will be a solid contributor.

I’m rooting for Elam.

That said, teams just don’t give up on 1st round picks this early unless there’s a serious lack of confidence in the player and their ability to develop.

Hopefully he's right in the energy transfers over into the season and they do well.
