You know that weird, eerie feeling where you know you have seen something before but you just can’t put your finger on exactly what?

Sunday that was called Confidence in the Cowboys Defense.

Take out the Tyreek Hill freak of nature play at the half and this game is Dallas blowing out a team that came in 6-2. That is a new feeling after the last couple of years.

The key thing IMO is that both the OL and DL are gelling as units and begin to elevate their play. The DL has no weak link since David Irving returned and all four starters can rush and stop running plays. That opens up so many more things for Marinelli – which he did well in this game. Everything still comes down to execution, but its so much easier for the back 7 to do so when the DL is playing well and Sean Lee is back on the field.

The OL didn’t dominate but still controlled the game in the same basic formula this team. Our offense isn’t spectacular but it’s the equivalent of Nolan Ryan throwing his fastball. Everyone in the stadium knows he is going to throw it and the batter still can’t hit it.

Some grandiose notes:

TWill played a great game in every phase of the game. I hope this is the start of a breakout for him but the great game he had Sunday still puts him on a season long pace for…. Two. But the thing I was happiest with was that after the big RAC he sprinted to the line and was completely aware of the clock. That’s an improvement.

Good to see Linehan working to get Beasley and Twill into the game plan more. It really plays to Dak’s strengths. On a related note, I’m hoping that as part of the Ezekiel Elliot appeal, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit bans Beasley’s end zone dances.

I loved Romo calling the game, he is obviously extremely knowledgeable with personal insights into the players, but is also just a positive guy. It’s a welcome change. I love Aikman, but he works too hard at being neutral IMO. Collinsworth drives me nuts because he has “movie critic syndrome” and works hard at finding things to nitpick.

Taco got a Sack and Heath got a pick on the following play. You know what that is?

Proof of a benevolent God who reads this Forum. Want further proof? He also knocked Andy Reid down with his own player.

Only thing I can add is that the offensive game plan and execution was great. For the first time in a long time, this team felt like it was better coached than the other team. The WRs were used in ways that plays to their strengths which was honestly the greatest thing about watching this game and KC defense looked like it was almost always on it’s heels. The players have to execute of course, but the game plan was right on point this week.

A handful of posters(meaning me) felt the DL wasn't going to be a problem

DLawrence was healthy, Irving really shined last year, TCrawford got consistent pressure, Collins was a nice find at the 3T, Taco was a good draft pick

Guys like Thornton, Paea, Mayowa, DMoore have shown to be replaceable and plug and play

I saw Dez get doubled frequently. Has this been the case all season? I seem to recall that in the early games, especially the Giants and Broncos game, he was getting single coverage (and losing).

I wonder why the Chiefs doubled Dez, when this offense has been slowed by stacked fronts and single man coverage.

How could anyone not love that first dance Beasley did!?!?! I had to rewind it at least twice even knowing I was missing live plays. I was dying.

I really want to see Beasley run more of the crossing patterns that Bryant ran early in the game--especially out of the slot. Beasley will make almost every linebacker eat his dust trying to cover him in the middle of the field--particularly when they are in zone coverage.

I've been on that bandwagon all along. Seemed like there were multiple DL threads every day in the off season.
I fought for TCraword all winter..... people wanted to cut him because he was due 7m

DLawrence and TCrawford played thru some injuries last year and Irving emerged as a beast
Getting Tapper back and drafting Taco looked like big adds.....MCollins was a great pick

Mayowa, DMoore, Thornton and Paea rounded out a solid rotation

Injuries have struck again and Collins has regressed a little but DLaw, Irving and TCrawford are beasting......if Taco comes around look out

Totally agree. And if we can get Butler deep consistently this offense can do it all. I still think a speed burner at WR is one of our top draft needs for next year.
