I have two main observations –

#1 – Its amazing we won this game. You will normally lose every single time when you get three lightning strike turnovers like that. If you wait to see Jason Witten lose a pass into an opponent’s hands, you will wait five years. If you wait for Bailey to fumble into a defensive TD, you will wait five years. If you wait for both to happen in the same game again, it would take 400 years for that to happen in one game again.

#2 – this kind of sluggish first half is what you get when you don’t play your starters at all in the preseason. The upside is fewer injuries and players who are fresher late in the season, but this is the downside. All in all, I would go with the approach of not playing the starters in the preseason that Garrett is using.

Some other random thoughts -

The team is better with DMC at RB. Randle is OK but he is a Marion Barber III type of player – better on passing downs and better playing against a tired defense. But starting against a fresh defense he is merely OK. It does look like they have figured out how to utilize Dunbar, which is good news. I didn't think Dunbar would make the team this year and I'm happy to be wrong.

This is a totally different team with Dez on the sidelines also.

The people predicting doom and gloom if Claiborne started at CB were wrong.

The Cowboys plan on ODB to let him get his touches but pound him with every shot possible is probably what the rest of the NFL is going to do this season. I think the odds of him playing all 16 games are pretty slim.

Roger Goodell, while not in attendance, still sucks.

I think randle will be ok but you need to offset him with thunder Michael. Dez disappointed me. He gets paid and then misses most of preseason and most of first game. When he was in there...I failed to see that fire that endeared him with fans. I hope that is not the case going forward.

I think Randle did very well.
I think Darren and Randall can be nice 1-2 punch.

Des upsets me. Not in a major way. Just in a way where it's like what the heck, man?

I absolutely agree. No passion whatsoever and he didn't look good. Williams was awful too. I'm glad they won but that was the ugliest win I've ever seen

Another note is that I really didn't want to hear Collinsworth about the Pass Interference call on the Giants. First of all, he did hook TWill's shoulder and second, the Giants got away with two PI non-calls early in the game.

On Randy Gregory, IMO Ryan Russell will step into that rotational pass rusher spot and play well for the next couple of weeks. Not as well as Gregory, but better than expected and he will make a contribution.

Well said indeed, and want to say Goodell does suck and DMC needs to be the main back- those points are outstanding !!!

Witten has most definitely popped up balls like that for picks before, way too often for my liking, And Beasley lost the ball a couple times last year when caught from behind. Both these guys need to adjust and adjust quick. With Dez gone and re-inforcements probably weeks away (Dez, Gregory, McClain, Hardy), we can't afford to give up possession for the next few weeks
