THE skins game part DEUX. MUCH the same - in many ways.
BUT enough of that. Had we won, it was ONLY DELAYING THE INEVITABLE.
WIth the hole in our Pass Rush, and the problems at LB, not to mention Safety, we were going to get pasted by someone. And with our inconsistent O line, we were going to get owned by someone. Better to not have any illusions.
23% 3rd down conversion rate. YOU DO NOT WIN GAMES that way.
ONE OFFENSIVE TD. We did not roast and burn the Seahawk corners like we should have.
JJ had a great 4th qtr- just like he did 2 years ago. BUT then he was given the shot in the 4th qtr- he was given enough carries to get going. BUT WE STILL ONLY RUSHED 26 times. And early in the game there were no holes.
Carpenter played VERY WELL. No bust there. James seemed to play well- led the stats, anyway. Canty was very active.BUT WE STILL GAVE UP A BIG TD PASS late in the game when it mattered; NO SACKS.
ROMO. One must remember he is still young and inexperienced- and he did play pretty well - that snap could have happened to anyone.
I just hope he is not a snakebit QB to whom things like that ALWAYS happen.
BOttom line is that winning last night would have only delayed the inevitable. We need to fix the areas that need fixing: O line, Pass Rush, Safety. And upgrade our starting LBs to guys that can cover consistency.
Oh, one last thing- ZIMMER MUST GO!!!!
