KaVontae Turpin on why 'everybody is buying into' new Cowboys' culture, offensive role in 2025

So let's review here....

Dak.....highest paid
Ceedee....3rd highest paid
Micah....about to be highest paid.

Between "working" at camp cupcake, getting all the endorsements that come with being a Cowboy and having a newbie coach that just wants the players to like him only an idiot wouldn't want to "work" under these conditions.

The only players that wouldn't want to be here are the ones that want an organization that puts winning championships over being in the media's mouths constantly.
You proved my point...thank you.

We’ll find out if everyone is buying in when we face Philly in the opener. We’re going to get tested right out the gate.
And what if you lose on the road to a Super Bowl caliber team that's supposed to be better than you are we supposed to overreact to that because I know you guys will there are no expectations of winning but it's more about competing we'll see how they compete how they hold up how they maintain focus and not have a bunch of Unforced errors you know penalties execution problems and all those things that's what you should be looking for in this game not a win if you win that's a bonus but it's how you come out and play..

I know it's not a perfect similarity but if you look at how we started the season in which Tom Brady won the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers how we played that game I mean we went toe to toe with them we gave everything they could handle barely lost that game in a high scoring game everyone saying that we don't come out into the first games playing well because we're rusty because we don't play enough our starters in the preseason, that's not true...

There are plenty of examples that it's not true a lot of really good first games I realized some of it's who you're facing but in this case my example was we faced the eventual Super Bowl winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the goat at quarterback., played very well..

That's all I'm expecting I just want to see a will coached game a well executed game I want them to play as well as they possibly can and if we're just out coached and their players are just simply better and we lose respectfully... I would walk away feeling pretty good I know it's going to be a loss in the division but anybody who expects a win out of the gate on the road against a division rival and the Super Bowl defending team that's just ridiculous..

I expect them to have a rough start going with the schedule we don't know how all those teams are going to play but I hope we learn from each game even if their losses and then get it on track....

Only an idiot would think that all players want to be here. With the size and guarantees of these new contracts, player have more leverage than ever. So, yeah....not all players wanted to be here last year and their efforts showed it.
To go further and I didn't buy into the whole lame duck thing, but I believed that may have been passed down by the attitude of the coaching staff who seemed for half a year to be in a fog with no plan a rudderless boat in a windstorm if you will,...

I mean Jason Garrett and his lame duck here he won he had a one of his best seasons got a new contract out of it I was expecting at least something comparable but maybe some of those players not giving it there all it leaked down from the attitude of the coaching staff..

And maybe that came from the lack of an offseason and it leaked down from management you know how they say that soft stuff rolls downhill. I'm not sure how that can roll downhill lol .

I'm thinking right out of the gate though that's how it happened you have a lack of an off season coaching staff's not happy coaching staff let's that show too much now you have the players reacting poorly to it and then you have a bunch of injuries and that pretty much sealed our fate...

So, this is a welcome offseason, whether it's all puff whether it's all silver lining stuff with BS I don't mind it i'd rather have the upbeat everybody on the same page maybe with the expectations blown out of proportion but it's much better feeling coming out of practices and camps than last year so hopefully we get a better result because of it...

"Everybody's buying in," Turpin explained. "Everybody's loving what Schottenheimer is doing. I just feel like we're gonna take the pressure and roll with it, and deal with it. Everybody's excited and everybody wants to be here."

Everyone’s upbeat going into the 5 week lull before training camp opens. Love it.
Sure, everyone is loving it, now, but, wait until they get hit in the mouth. See if them Greek dances did them any good!

All the back and forth...both can be true:
Turpin may love the coaching change and what its doing for his playing time, he may also believe other players are liking the changes as well.

This season can end bad because the FO is still the same FO that has ended bad the last 30 years...Both can be true,

Absolutely, its not an either/or type of situation. Odds are there is truth in Turpins quotes, but its also true that 99% of players are optimistic about things in June. Outside of players with contract issues its going to be rare to find a player and coaches not giving the PR friendly answers to everything right now.

Its OTAs...the only thing that really matters is are guys there, and are they healthy. Everything else is just noise right now, and that will be pretty true until you get half way or so through training camp.

Just announced...."Greek Yogurt now available in the team dining and dance hall"

See.....you guys were wrong when y'all said that Schotty couldn't make any meaningful changes

Unfortunately that's against the rules to come back to the thread and call people out and I do say unfortunately I was put on double secret probation for doing that.

But trust me there's nothing I'd like to do more than come back to the thread and take you and broke back mountain and the rest of the people that just spout negative crap before a game has even been played and rub your noses in it.

Because trust me I would be relentless as relentless as you people are spouting negative gibberish when nothing has even transpired yet to complain about

Internet muscles at work. Git em, git em good. Pour some of that blackrain on em. lmao

What exactly did he say that was wrong?
Nothing.....apparently he's confused with what I said. He mentioned that everyone was happy to be there, I said not everyone. Then he agreed with me, so he proved my point. That's all.

Could be a classic case of "I know you are but what am I"?..........I've been owned.
I've been owned? Lol....you flip flop, maybe you were joking or just ignorant....I don't think you were joking, so I explained very carefully.

I'm so excited that these players are running thier mouths. I can't wait to come back to this thread as we're counting the losses. Just remember folks, where was Schottenheimer when Dak was choking up a storm against GB a couple years ago. He sure as heck wasn't standing with Dak holding a tablet and going over what the defense is doing like we've seen McVay and Shanahan do with their QB. Dak was in a mental meltdown and not one coach tried to help him. Suddenly everything is different? Yeah right! I'm not buying it.
I agree that Dak needed a coach in his ear, I've made that point t over and over again, I'm glad someone else gets it. However, MM should have made that call. Every coach has what is called a paragraph, if it wasn't in Schotts paragraph it's on MM, if it was and MM didn't demand it. It's still on MM. I'm counting on Schott, because he's our coach, whether I like it or not.

New coaches have injected some spark into this team. Let's see if the product on the field matches current enthusiasm. I hope it does.

Curious if any team in the league, is talking about why everyone is not buying into their team philosophy?

The comments from players and others in the know have been more favorable for Shotty than they were with MM. This is a new team so must take a wait and see approach to find out what this team is about. Having said that, this is the time to be positive because of all these changes that have taken place. Unfortunately, there are those here who cannot stand anything positive about the Cowboys.
..even though McCarthy was big on family. Shotty is more the example of what that implies.

Parsons is even sounding less an Ego trip, then from months ago. Well see where it goes. :starspin:
