KC making some moves before our game

...yeah, Dallas and Detroit for some reason were singled out as Thanksgiving lifetime members for the holiday.
They were not "singled out".

They were the only teams that agreed to play in the contests. Not sure about Detroit's story, but Dallas agreed to do so on one condition:

They get to play in and host the game EVERY year.

Genius marketing from jumpstreet: and helped build the national, now international fanbase.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard other fanbases whine "how come Dallas always gets Thanksgiving".

"Because they were smart enough to see the value of playing in this game in front of all of America with families gathered around the TV. Unlike whatever whack team you root for that noone cares about, win or lose."

Lol

Most teams DO NOT WANT to play on Thanksgiving, let alone host it every season.

Have you noticed ever since the NFL added TNF that a lot of teams stopped whining about Dallas having this extra bye week? Once teams have to play on a short week on the regular they realize it can be a huge PITA.

Spot on. Another Mr Brandt special...he saw the value whilst all other teams said no.

If I'm not mistaken...First Thanksgiving game was between Detroit and Dallas and stayed at one game for a few years...then the marketing geniuses in the NFL front office decided on two games.

I believe Dallas also missed a Thanksgiving game in the mid-seventies and don't remember why.

Ode to Mr Brandt...hear hear

Go Cowboys!

Thank you, good lad.
Fascinating. and that WAS genius in the day when TV potentates thought few would pick football over tough, dry turkey.

Beat me too it, all the others wanted no part of it, now just a few years ago everyone wanted to be a part of it because it’s like another bye after the game.
