Do they even have one? Even though we haven't been sacked a bunch of times the hurries, the pressures, and the knock downs have been there on Romo. We have a dinged up O-line as the repots below are showing. Are we going to let Free play till Flo gets better? Doubtful.:bang2:
We need to see what this kid has, Flo is on the major decline of his career.
OT Flozell Adams - shoulder (9/28) - Adams started and finished the Broncos game despite an ailing shoulder. He has had full practice participation this week and should start at left tackle against Kansas City.
(So he was already hurt before the game started.)
C Andre Gurode - knee (10/4) - The Pro Bowl center missed Wednesday's practice with a sprained knee, but he returned on a somewhat-limited basis Thursday and seemed confident he'd play Sunday. Gurode had full participation on Friday, when he was listed as questionable. Phillips said Cory Procter is Gurode's primary backup, and Duke Preston also has taken reps this week.
(Holland Part 2?)
So getting back to the pressure on Romo thing. Romo took a pounding in the Panthers game and injured his elbow later but our defense saved the day with a pick 6. Denver was putting a lot of pressure on Romo throughout the game, enough to rattle his cage and effect his accuracy. In some instances his arm was hit while throwing the ball. I thought early in the game Garrett adjusted well and we were moving the ball with the dink and dunk but we had one missed field goal, a turn over, and a few drives stalled out with penalties. We easily could have scored 21 points in the 1st half but we beat ourselves.
Romo has always made this O-line look good with his feet and I can see why Crayton says we put to much on him. In the second half we abandoned the run and the short pass to early. Yeah we had some 2nd and longs and a few 3rd and longs but we can't let teams dictate to us what plays we call. It seems like teams already know if they can force us to pass they have a good shot at shutting us down. We gotta stick with what works. Eventually the deep stuff will open up but when your QB is taking a pounding and running for his life, he's gonna have a bad game.
We'd be better off and Romo would be better off if we just ran the ball and punted sometimes. You can't hit a home run on every drive. And no I'm not saying to completely abandon the pass either but sometimes, often times teams know we are gonna pass and they send the suicide blitz after Romo. Keep em guessing by running the ball right into it, we've become so predictable and ineffective...
KC has a lot of issues coming into this game but they are still an NFL team. If they can keep some pressure on Romo and shut down our run game they might have a chance to beat us. Still, the homer in me says it doesn't happen.
