Over the cap has a side bar and it had Neal costing us 2 mill. At least thats how I read it.

It was a 3 year deal. 3 million dollars in signing bonus spread out over 3* years. 1 "real" year and then 2 void years to spread out the signing bonus for "cap savings" in 2021.

First year was last year but the remaining two years would automatically void before the start of the 2022 new season(FA begins)- if no new contract was agreed to. Since the contract voids the prorated signing bonus is due instantly for 2022(2022 and 2023 at 1 mil each for a total dead cap of 2mil)
