More lockerroom material from Shockey

Everything points favorably to the Cowboys on Sunday.

The only thing that worries me is the 12th man, the Giants faithful. Unlike the fat and rich at Texas Stadium, the Giants fans can be loud.

Yeah but they'll be drunk and easily distracted. Their main focus will be to boo Eli.

Listening to WFAN and reading the Giants boards, I get the impression they expect between 20-30,000 Cowboys fans to attend the game.

A Cowboy game? No it will be a packed house for boos or cheers. Either way the New Jersey crowd will drink.

This article is misleading, it makes you think at first it's a whole new set of comments from him.

Speaking of the fans, that 4:15pm start is going to be interesting. This is essentially a night game, not only because darkness will fall quickly after kickoff, but because there will be plenty of time for pregame inebriation on the part of the locals.

The Cowboys always pack the Meadowlands when they come to town.
This area has just as many Cowboy fans as Giant fans... which might be one reason why they hate us so much.

Just like here in what they like to call eagle country. It drives them nuts!

I was in the lower level endzone seats and our whole section was plenty fired up and plenty loud... ESPECIALLY anytime Peyton Manning was trying to audible.

Perhaps its a matter that, after 10 years, the fans are cheering because they actually have hope for the team having success and love what they're seeing on the field.

I'm certainly not fat and rich and my voice was gone when I got in my car from all the yelling I did during the game and following the game in the parking lot.

I really think that whole stereotype of Texas Stadium fans should fall by the wayside. I go to a game every year, and it is always loud! Maybe it's just 'cause I'm there, but we usuallly rock the house! Back in the 70's and 80's, when the 'Boys were always good, there were a lot of rich people that just went to the games as a social thing, and they weren't very vocal. Then, when the team went to pot in the late 80's early 90's, a lot of the rich folks stopped getting their season tickets. It wasn't cool anymore. So gradually they were replaced by common folks like us that just wanted to go root for our team, even if they were bad. Then we came back to prominence for a few years before cratering again. That, I think, finished off the old boring TS crowd. Nowadays I think the crowd is a lot better than it used to be, especially now that we're coming back to prominence. I'm going to the Saints game. I'll let you know what it's like.

From what you described up until this season, it has not been a stereotype.:)

When I was last there, that is how it seemed to me.
The cheap seats were rocking and the majority of the best seats had people drinking, chatting, ocassionally clapping and yelling. But nothing approaching what I would call a loud crowd.

Yes, I've been to Denver and Houston. Back in the days when I visited those stadiums in the mid 80's they put us to shame, but I really think it's louder now. Again, maybe it's just my big mouth. :)

Ehh.. I'm from Jersey and Giants Stadium really has the same problem as us with getting loud. The season ticket waiting list is LONG (something like 50+ years), so most of the fans are old. In addition, tickets are always being passed around to wallstreet guys who don't even really like football but just go because it's the cool thing to do.

Last year, when they got the additional home game vs the Saints it was a free for all for tickets. STH didn't get their seats for that game, and in addition it was a night game so it was a MUCH younger crowd. I have friends who were there and they say they've never heard GS get louder.

With that said, last year's Cowboys/Giants game was the loudest of the 20 or so games I've ever been to at GS.
