We don't need Zeke? Who else you gonna load up 450 to 500 touches? You can't treated him like a rented mule...then say you don't need him! Has Jerry Jones been paying attention? You are not New England Jerry! This is Jason Garrett. And he would much rather run Zeke with Jumbo packages into 9 man fronts...than design a play that takes innovation, practice and execution. Zeke and his people are not stupid.

Jerry...YOU have kept this old school coach around....and this is what the old school coach NEEDS! You don't need him? Show me the historical evidence? And please...spare me with what Alfred Morris averaged. Or how many yards Darren McFadden gained. NEITHER is half the player Zeke is. NEITHER wears down a defense. NEITHER allows you to control the game and protect your defense. This is how Garrett was successful...and without this...we will return to the pack.

Jerry...YOU decided this a long time ago...probably without you even realizing you were deciding this. All the other millionaires from the front office, to the coaching staff, to a lot of the players....all have made money on the back of this player. Problem is...Zeke is not playing along anymore.

I don't know what you offered him...but I do know he should be the highest paid RB in the NFL. When I think of the Sam Bradfords and Mike Glennons of the world. And all of the MILLIONS they have made...with a clean uniform. Heck even Jason Garrett. And how calm, relaxed, spry they look...and all I picture is Zeke with a walker looking like Earl Campbell. It's NOT right. And if your GOAL is the Super Bowl...Zeke has to be the primary focus of the offense. Dak is a slightly above average QB. Amari is a very good WR..but is he the best player at his position in the NFL....is Amari even a top 5 WR? But I get it...your head coach tried WR by committee...and it was obvious that the head coach offense could not function without an elite talent. And for a team that needs Zeke to dominate....you gonna try RB by committee?

Jerry has done a good job of providing this team with talent. So I get why he thinks we SHOULD be able to do some things....even without Zeke. But this team sucked without Romo. This team sucked without a true #1 WR. And this team will suck without a TRUE workhorse RB. But this is the PRICE you pay for keeping Garrett around!

Good post, Bailey! Seems obvious to me (and probably to others) that Jerry is trying tio propose to the public that Ezekiel can easily be done without. In truth, they might do without him, although, it would certainly jeopardize an otherwise successful season by doing so.

Jerry's nuts if he believes that trash. He's just tempting Zeke and his agent to disprove it. It was just a stupid (or drunk) statement on Jerry's part.

If we didn't have a QB and we had to go with the running by committee I could agree we would be average to below average. That's the great thing about having a franchise QB and Dak is a franchise QB. Are we better with Zeke, yes we are. Can we won a championship without Zeke, yes we can

Signing Zeke is a double edged sword that should have been obvious when he was drafted. Sure, maybe he is worth every penny he is asking for but as soon as you give it to him on a 5-6 year deal, you instantly want to look for ways to reduce his workload so as not not use him up too soon. This in turn makes him not worth the money you are paying him and it’s why you don’t draft RBs with a top 10 pick. It would be much better to draft RBs in the 3rd-5th rounds every year and keep the position stocked with young guys you can use up and discard with another one sitting there ready to go. It’s just not smart football to throw top 10 picks at the RB position.

Im starting to thing the front office wants to play a game of chicken with Zeke. The problem is there are others wanting to get paid and they're watching every move. These last 3 years were on the shoulders of Zeke and Dak and you not going to be able to get away with paying them peanuts forever. Its time to pay up and shut up. DO NOT mess with this team this year...This is the best team we've had since the 90's. If Zeke pull a Bell on us he will find a way to get every dime back cause other teams know he's worth it.

There's no need to even talk to Zeke now. He either shows up for game 1 or loses game checks. Players don't like to
lose game checks. Zeke is under contract for the next two seasons. People need to just chill. Stephen is just running the
cash register efficiently.

This team aint making the playoffs without Zeke...…......anybody that thinks otherwise is an idiot.

No Zeke = No Playoffs

Zeke knows this, his agent knows this, and the Cowboys know this as well..............that is why a deal will get done soon

NO reason to give some mental loser anything they want. Do you want to handicap the franchise for possibly one season or you want to do it for the next 5 seasons?

Its not about making the playoffs, its creating a viable contender for a window of time. The money we would pay the idiot can be used elsewhere.

Fans said they team would fall off if they didn’t re-sign Murray and things worked out. Let’s wait and see the young boys.

I think Cowboys are going to see how things progress early in the season before caving. They did this during Emmitts holdout too.

Zeke Elliott is LeVeon Bell. Despite the talent, the off the field questionable decisions do not warrant an extension or new contract. That is how I would look at it if I was an owner or GM. As a fan of course I want the best RB in the NFL on my team but realistically and if I am being honest.....if Zeke was not as talented as he is he would not be on this team with the off the field issues he has had. As a fan though...please sign Zeke!

We need Zeke to be smart. We need Zeke to be a leader. We need Zeke to honor his contract. He isn't and he doesn't, so then maybe he needs to go.

Romo got hurt and we finished 4-12. It worked out great.
Yeah and Murray playing without Romo wouldn’t have helped. Murray isnt even in the league anymore. Good thing they didn’t give him a huge 5 year deal.

So many fans were *****ing and complaining about letting Murray go to eagles but never admitted how wrong they were.

They can probably make the playoffs but they would have a hard time making it to the SB without Zeke.

No, that's only your perception. Dominate run blocking OL + Pollard rb/wr weapon with 4.34 speed. Weber can get the yards up the middle (4.4 speed), Dak can run, Alfred Morris isn't crap.
