We don't need Zeke? Who else you gonna load up 450 to 500 touches? You can't treated him like a rented mule...then say you don't need him! Has Jerry Jones been paying attention? You are not New England Jerry! This is Jason Garrett. And he would much rather run Zeke with Jumbo packages into 9 man fronts...than design a play that takes innovation, practice and execution. Zeke and his people are not stupid.

Jerry...YOU have kept this old school coach around....and this is what the old school coach NEEDS! You don't need him? Show me the historical evidence? And please...spare me with what Alfred Morris averaged. Or how many yards Darren McFadden gained. NEITHER is half the player Zeke is. NEITHER wears down a defense. NEITHER allows you to control the game and protect your defense. This is how Garrett was successful...and without this...we will return to the pack.

Jerry...YOU decided this a long time ago...probably without you even realizing you were deciding this. All the other millionaires from the front office, to the coaching staff, to a lot of the players....all have made money on the back of this player. Problem is...Zeke is not playing along anymore.

I don't know what you offered him...but I do know he should be the highest paid RB in the NFL. When I think of the Sam Bradfords and Mike Glennons of the world. And all of the MILLIONS they have made...with a clean uniform. Heck even Jason Garrett. And how calm, relaxed, spry they look...and all I picture is Zeke with a walker looking like Earl Campbell. It's NOT right. And if your GOAL is the Super Bowl...Zeke has to be the primary focus of the offense. Dak is a slightly above average QB. Amari is a very good WR..but is he the best player at his position in the NFL....is Amari even a top 5 WR? But I get it...your head coach tried WR by committee...and it was obvious that the head coach offense could not function without an elite talent. And for a team that needs Zeke to dominate....you gonna try RB by committee?

Jerry has done a good job of providing this team with talent. So I get why he thinks we SHOULD be able to do some things....even without Zeke. But this team sucked without Romo. This team sucked without a true #1 WR. And this team will suck without a TRUE workhorse RB. But this is the PRICE you pay for keeping Garrett around!

Demarco Murray ran for 1,845 yards two years before Elliott ever got here.

Darren McFadden at the tail end of his disappointing career, finished fourth in the league in rushing, even after a late start when the team wasted their time with Joseph Randle!

This team has succeeded before Elliott, and they will succeed after Elliott. It's about this offensive line.

If you equate the productivity of McFadden...with high impact on this teams success...you don't know football. And its funny you mention Randle...who the THOUGHT could replace Murray. Which should show you that ANBODY can do this is a false narrative!

So many fans have made their mindset: " trade/cut Zeke ."
As soon as Jerry signs him a huge contract, there will be a lot of disappointed fans here.

And if you want to cover your eyes to the facts - and the truth that not one, but two running backs had success before Elliott, you know even less. You can cover your own eyes to those facts, but not anyone else's.

And its funny you mention Randle...who the THOUGHT could replace Murray.

Yeah, they guessed wrong on character. And then this line took a washed-up McFadden - with no quarterback - to 4th in the league in rushing. Tough truth to deal with.

Which should show you that ANBODY can do this is a false narrative!

Whoever said "anybody"? There's your "false narrative" right there.

I will be one of them.

Disappointed that they caved in to the demands of a bonehead one misstep away from ruining another season with another suspension.

Disappointed that they made their last deal first, and paid Elliott before Prescott Ron Cooper.

Disappointed that they now have that much less money for deals with other players who aren't screw-ups.

Yep, I'll be disappointed.

No, that's only your perception. Dominate run blocking OL + Pollard rb/wr weapon with 4.34 speed. Weber can get the yards up the middle (4.4 speed), Dak can run, Alfred Morris isn't crap.

Hey Jim Morrison, Pollard is Tony Dorsett and Weber is Emmitt Smith and yes the only good thing our QB can do is RUN.....now you bringing in a new QB for us to be able to pass the ball when needed???:omg:

There's no need to even talk to Zeke now. He either shows up for game 1 or loses game checks. Players don't like to
lose game checks. Zeke is under contract for the next two seasons. People need to just chill. Stephen is just running the
cash register efficiently.

Even better - if he doesn’t show up by Aug 6, he doesn’t accrue a year of free agency. He’s a numbskull, really.

I don’t get the point of this thread. Jerry is negotiating with Zeke. He made him an offer and Zeke hasn’t made a counter yet. This would get done faster if he was in camp - everyone saw photos of Jerry talking to Amari Cooper’s agent yesterday.

Jerry has already said he wants Zeke. He’s willing to negotiate with the guy even though he has two years left on his deal and has been in trouble nearly every offseason.

What more do you want from him @bbailey423 ?

If we didn't have a QB and we had to go with the running by committee I could agree we would be average to below average. That's the great thing about having a franchise QB and Dak is a franchise QB. Are we better with Zeke, yes we are. Can we won a championship without Zeke, yes we can

We don't need Zeke?

We need a player LIKE Zeke but maybe not Zeke.....because quite frankly, he is an infantile alcoholic bonehead...he didn't really make the team amazing last year. It wasn't until we got Cooper that things worked. The team needs balance and yes it needs a good running back but not necessarily Zeke.

I'll play along....is there a "player like Zeke" on someone else's roster that will be cut soon? is there a "player like Zeke" sitting on the couch waiting for his phone to ring? Not trying to be rude...but Zeke has pretty much been the NFL rushing champ for all 3 years he has been in the league. We have TRIED the "anybody can run behind this line"...that was Jerry looking for his ego to be stroked and his drafting acumen to be validated. How did that work out? Actually...I'll go back even further...Jerry has said 1 in 500 coaches could coach the Dallas Cowboys. And we have not been back to the Super Bowl...scratch that...the conference title game....since Jimmy Johnsons influence left the building! If it was so easy...we would have already done it. But since we have tried and FAILED...why do we need to see it again when the evidence is already in.
