I cannot imagine a worse choice for cutdown day, can you?

If this scenario actually happens on cutdown day, I think everyone in the Cowboys for an office should lose their jobs. To artificially elevate drafted players over undrafted ones is foolish.
There is no chance that another team would pick up Shelton, so he is worth the waiver wire “risk “
Obviously, Brown is so good that keeping him on the 53 is a must at this point.

I would consider trading Flournoy or Turpin , since the Cowboys find themselves in a position where two young receivers are really showing their skill. A quality RT might just be worth trading for if the Cowboys are willing to part with one of their mid-level receivers.

Shelton will make the 53. But could be inactive each week.

Brown has a real shot at making the 53. He and Mingo will be why they may keep 6 WR.

However I would not be surprised Brown will be on the PS.

I am ok of they trade Turpin. Keep Flournoy. Trade Schoonmaker.

I think there are certain guys that are obvious cuts... schoonmaker seems obvious, the team just has to swallow their pride, in order to make the roster better. Pride, failure to admit a bad draft pick will make the roster weaker.

Especially in a LOOOONG season, every opportunity to strengthen the roster matters.

Trigg is dealing with an injured toe. He is missing valuable practices and missed PS game 2.

I think Schoonmaker is safe regardless. He is better than many say.
He is one of those fans pile on for various reasons. Most of them unfounded.

Well, I think that Schoonmaker has had more than adequate opportunity to demonstrate his skillset... I think it is reasonable to ask, WHAT IS HE WAITING FOR?

It is unfortunate that Trigg is missing practices and a game, I agree... but I think it's becoming clear that Schoonmaker's ceiling is low.

You have to be smart too and cutting Schoon makes no sense with your tight ends hurt.

Camden Brown wouldn’t survive PS he would be claimed . Az had both Jalen Brooks and Fairweather catching passes the other night .

Kuntz at 6’8” makes for a nice target at TE . Schoonmaker is not a given to make this team as some might think .

I think Schoonmaker makes the team and Trigg gets cut and makes it to the practice squad.

Shelton has no hope of seeing the field. He's nowhere near being even adequate as a backup. Should be cut and put on the PS, at best. No one is going to claim the him off waivers. The Cowboys won't admit their dreadful waste of a draft pick so easily, so they'll burn a roster spot and cut a better player.
