Funny how Diggs and Parsons' were super star players under Quinn.
Interesting thought on a dreary post-game night.

Pfff. You don't start a rebuild by thinking about who's to stay. You clean house and who's still standing is lucky.

No one should be safe. You bring in a GM and a coach with a shared vision and strategy to reach that goal. And then you find out what kind of players you need. Then guys who suck right now could excell and players who are still good are wasted in the new system.

You do NOT look at the players you have and build around them.

It strains me brain to think of others we need to keep, but with these chaps on the team we can rebuild around them.

What 6 players would you keep with whom to rebuild?

(Overshown is a baller, a fan fave, has more potential than Micah the Mouth but is now hurt. Still, he is a keeper.)

Parsons is more valuable as trade bait but knowing Yoda, Micah is getting rich on a long-term contract next season. Still, I don't like his demeanor, his big mouth and his Me First attitude. Look what he did tonight, pouted big time, recorded no tackles and walked into the tunnel with 10 seconds left in the game. DIVA!
You just need a good HC to maximize the talent. Go out and get a good HC and stop hiring retreads.

So we only have 47 to go. We are in great shape with GM Jethro figuring out the rest.

I'd like them to trade Parsons for whatever they can get. Not fond of Diggs either.
I agree. Problem is this is who GM Jethro wants to build around on defense. Did either make a tackle today?

No you bring in a HC that can get the most out of the players on the roster. Thats what Don Shula did in Miami. He took a underachieving team going nowhere and turned them into a dynasty. He was a master at fundamentals.

Overshown, perhaps in pain, had 6 tackles, 4 of them solos.
The healthy Micah Parsons had 0 tackles, 0 sacks. And a healthy walk into the tunnel with time left on the clock.

GM Jethro believes he gets the most out of his players.

So you want to keep bad knees and bad shoulders? Good luck building a team around that.

So you are ready to move on from Tyler Smith and Brandon Aubrey? I do not think so.

Lamb and Parsons are outstanding talents with maturity issues. They need the right coaching. They need to get their heads in the right place. They need good leadership. A good GM as a leader would be a start.

This roster has talent. A lot of good talent. It lacks depth however. But the biggest need is a good QB that has confidence and the team has confidence in.

That's the problem this team has had for many years now 'the right coaching'.

No - Overshown - can't stay healthy. Move on.

Trade Parsons for a bonanza before it's too late.

Trade Diggs before too.
Anyone who thinks that injury is on Overshown is blind. EVERY single player in the NFL would get hurt in that situation. No leg can handle having someone fall on it like that.

It is worth noting that a "bonanza" is AT MOST 2 1s and very likely late 1s so you are looking at, for context, trading Micah Parsons for 2 of the following: Mazi Smith, Tyler Smith, Tyler Guyton. If you think 2 of those are worth 1 Micah Parsons then you might be fit to be the GM of the Cowboys.

Diggs is probably getting you at best a 3rd and more likely a 4th/5th. His main selling point is that if you can convince a team that he is an above average corner than the next 2 years he would cost the acquiring team 10m and 15.5m, before back to back 20m years so basically whoever is trading for him has him for 2 years 25.5m which is a reasonable deal for an above average corner which is why you are likely looking at a day 3 pick as compensation.

I would look to trade parsons.
Overshown had his second knee injury. its going to take him a year to really recover. will he ever be the same? had a lot of promise, but two knee injuries.
Aubrey is a keeper. so is Angerer.
Lamb is a keeper
Turpin as a 5th or 6th WR and return specialist.
Tyler Smith is a keeper
Beebe looks to be a keeper

I don't like Diggs. hated the contract he got. he is a feast or famine type CB. and he hates to tackle and this is football. you have to tackle. he is on my to go list.

This team needs more players with above average talent. The top guys are pretty good in some spots but the rest are lacking. a single draft can only do so much and only drafting doesn't allow you enough time to build the kind of roster that can absorb injuries and still compete post season. So they need to find a way to sign better players at team friendlier deals or turn tradeable players into multiple high draft picks so they can draft more better talent.
