As much as Charles Woodson deserves to be DPOY...

Keith Brooking has been instrumental in the Cowboys' success on defense. He is the pulse of the unit and someone we've been seriously lacking over the last few years.

Anybody else with me on this?

As instrumental as he has been; and I don't think we would be where we are now without him, I can't see how he would be a DPOY candidate. He's not even the best player on our defense.

If anyone on our defensive unit has been more instrumental than Ware, I must have missed something. When he went out with a neck injury, only to return with that huge game against the Saints.....that's just something they write books about. Our team's turnaround is directly correlated with him.

Would he even finish in the Top 3 for 'Defensive Player of the Cowboys'??

He'd be in the running....

For me it would be

1. Ware
2. Ratliff

3. Brooking/Jenkins/Spencer

No.

The guy has been decent out on the field. Not great, not bad. Decent.

You want better players on this defense?

Ratliff
Ware
Jenkins
Newman
Spencer

At least...

Based on the way Spencer played the 2nd half of this season, Id give it to him.

Id put Jenkins ahead of Brooking too, but that lateral last night knocked him back.

Tho, DPOY is a regular season award, so maybe not.

Oh my god. Its bad that this is getting blown up more than Wittens bonehead plays last night that were actually made during critical moments of the game. If I see one more person bring up that lateral I swear.

Inspirational yes. Very solid. Yes. Huge signing? Yes.

MVP? No. Not of the defense and certainly not for the NFC.

I'd rank it like this:
Jenkins (yes I think so)
Ratliff
Ware
Spencer
Brooking

Brooking gets my vote for our team defensive MVP.

But not for the league. Woodson deserves it in a landslide. Guy is flat out ballin this year.

It's Ware hands down. This should not even be a discussion.

Brooking has been an outstanding pickup for the Cowboys but he's not even remotely close to being the NFL's defensive player of year...get real! :laugh2:
