It is all about preparation. That's where good coaches become great.
I think Phillips is a very good defensive coach, but it has been a while since I watched one of his games and told myself that was a masterful defensive scheme he rolled out there for that specific game. Overall, he's normally very good and aggressive. Very sound and consistent. But we'll need a few genius level games from him the next two weeks. We can't afford the big play breakdowns and I think that happens because he gets comfortable. We've been extremely comfortable with James. I hope we aren't for these upcoming games. It can't be taken for granted he's going to get the job done. Good coaches like Turner and Payton are going to go after him heavy and hard. I would send Shockey, Gates, Sproles and Bush at him all day long, not to mention the fullbacks. San Diego has two pretty good ones in Tolbert and Hester.
They'd better watch Barb Carpenter too. We got caught with him isolated on a WR a couple of times against the Giants.
