In his video that is on DC.com he talks about a lot of truth.

We as fans can look at an Alex Barron in game 1 and blame him. I don't think we are wrong. But players on a team cannot look for blame at other players. That leads to dissension and gets out of control, or as he says it snowballs in a hurry. They have to look at themselves and figure out what they are doing wrong. That is how a team stays together.

Good point by Keith as usual.

He goes on.

"I'll keep it real. The first couple of weeks of the season, I don't think our preparation was what it should have been, for whatever reason."

He said it folks. They mailed it in. Bought their own hype. Went through the motions. Paid the piper for their sins. 0-2.

But what about the last 2 games? He answers that too.

"I can't say that for the past 2 weeks (meaning that preparation was not good). I thought our preparation was great going into the Houston game. I thought we had a great week of preparation on our bye. The best practices we have had all year. We backed it up last week with really good practices and I thought guys were focused. I have been in this league for a while and I have a feel for that...guys are coming in every day, carrying themselves like pros and preparing themselves the way they should."

I think if you look at the team, not counting the mistakes that drive us all batty, you can see more energy in the last 2 games as opposed to the first two. It's a good sign.

Now they have to put it all together. Can they? We all have to stay tuned for that I suppose.

I think the #1 thing we have to do to fix this is take the ball away. When teams do that momentum swings and if this team has momentum, I think we are dangerous.

BTW, as of Monday Night Football the guy who holds the NFL record for INTs and Fumbles Lost is next on the radar. Here's hoping his sore elbow and proclivity to push the envelope hands us some momentum.

I've been saying this for awhile, the coaches need to hold the players accountable, not the other players.

Players holding other players accountable will just be seen as finger pointing and will turn into a meltdown.

But the key point is that they once again 'bought into their own hype.'

We really need somebody that is a mix between Parcells and Wade. Somebody who allows players to play and has schemes to easier fit their capabilities, but a coach that really 'keeps on them' so they don't buy into their own hype.

This is a problem because in '08 they bought into their own hype. Two freaking years ago. It's like they never learn their lesson.

You make a good point about a coach somewhere in between Wade and Parcells.

“I don't think our preparation was what it should have been, for whatever reason."

That is coaching. Plain and simple. Not mystical football gods, not lucky bounces. If this team was prepared to win football games they would be 4-0 easily. I rewatched the game last night on NFL Rewind. I can’t believe we lost that game. I can’t believe we have lost any games this year. We have been the better team on the field by far. It has been the coaching that has cost this team and that is sad.

I can't disagree with you. I really can't. We have crushed teams on the field and played even with or behind them on the scoreboard. That can't happen.

i said this and will say it again, and ask either for dcfanatic, theebs or hostile to find it on some podcast

back in 2007 when we had beaten the giants twice during the year, after we beat the giants in new york, strahan got with the players and told them, they arent playing like pro bowl players, but thinking all they have to do is show up, since they were so great, something like that

after the players bought into what strahan was telling them, the players buckled down, looked at themselves and the rest is history, giants went to superbowl and won

so where is the podcast or written document where strahan says that to the giants players and they changed their focus, intensity, sloppy play and penalty prone erros.

This is where I lose all sane rational thoughts. Again, why?

They drank their own kool-aid, not just the fans this time.

totally agree, if you remember, after the cowboys benched bigg leonard davis, and davis came back in after holland got his eye punched by a titans dirty player, davis was more focused, determined, and played harder.

ware said this a few weeks ago, when talking about romo, ware said that romo was getting onto players and making them correct errors on the field instead of waiting like they usually did to fix things in film study or the next day, so romo had to get on the players to fix things when errors are on the field in practice, not the coaches

you will also remember when newman said that he thought players were standing around too much, because wade wanted to work the players in individual groups, and not as a whole team group, so some players were standing around, goofing off and not paying attention

so wade got the players to work more as a whole unit on the field and you saw the results in houston game, and when they focused on eliminating mistakes in practice
cream puff wade was at it again
again, that points to cream puff wade and coaching staff

My problem with this is that for the last 4 years Dallas has been preaching this and it was with out a doubt the focus of this off season. It's all you heard yet we still have no results. I refuse to believe it's just going to start to happen.

On a side note, I believe more then anything the major issue has to do with the lack of play making safeties yet like OL and Kicker we just refuse to address it.

The Cowboys can't generate enough of a pass rush without blitzing and sometimes even then.

On offense, several of the offensive lineman have been mailing it in every week.

The game is won and lost at the line of scrimmage. These are the guys that must win their battles. They aren't and it shows on the score board.

If Wade Phillips doesn't realize that Brett Favre is too damn old to read zones when he has 5 or 6 guys in his face than he needs to be fired.

Blitz Favre ALL DAY. From all different positions, throwing different zones and schemes at him. 100 yards, 3 picks, 1 fumble.

You're 100 percent right but I don't like our DB's vs Moss, Shiancoe, or Percy Harvin in 1-on-1 match-up's.

Do you like their DBs on Miles, Roy, Dez, and Jason?

Sorry, we as fans did not drink Koolaid, this team is capable of great things, we as fans had reasonable expectations for the "talent level" on this team

I like our chances against any teams DB's but if it's not resulting in W's it means very little.
