In his video that is on DC.com he talks about a lot of truth.
We as fans can look at an Alex Barron in game 1 and blame him. I don't think we are wrong. But players on a team cannot look for blame at other players. That leads to dissension and gets out of control, or as he says it snowballs in a hurry. They have to look at themselves and figure out what they are doing wrong. That is how a team stays together.
Good point by Keith as usual.
He goes on.
"I'll keep it real. The first couple of weeks of the season, I don't think our preparation was what it should have been, for whatever reason."
He said it folks. They mailed it in. Bought their own hype. Went through the motions. Paid the piper for their sins. 0-2.
But what about the last 2 games? He answers that too.
"I can't say that for the past 2 weeks (meaning that preparation was not good). I thought our preparation was great going into the Houston game. I thought we had a great week of preparation on our bye. The best practices we have had all year. We backed it up last week with really good practices and I thought guys were focused. I have been in this league for a while and I have a feel for that...guys are coming in every day, carrying themselves like pros and preparing themselves the way they should."
I think if you look at the team, not counting the mistakes that drive us all batty, you can see more energy in the last 2 games as opposed to the first two. It's a good sign.
Now they have to put it all together. Can they? We all have to stay tuned for that I suppose.
I think the #1 thing we have to do to fix this is take the ball away. When teams do that momentum swings and if this team has momentum, I think we are dangerous.
BTW, as of Monday Night Football the guy who holds the NFL record for INTs and Fumbles Lost is next on the radar. Here's hoping his sore elbow and proclivity to push the envelope hands us some momentum.
