Keith Davis was offered a 2 year roughly 3 million Offer with the Saints that includes a 1.2 Million Signing Bonus and salaries of $825,000 and $925,000. I personally think the Boyz will match this due to lack of depth at the Safety spot and his special teams play. The Boyz will still draft a starting Free Safety in the 2nd or 3rd Round either Ko Simpson, Bullocks or Pat Watkins.

I think we will match the deal -- he's a ST ace and he can backup either safety position. we will address FS -- I think more likely in round 3 or 5 though. There will be some great value in round 2-3 -- especially with regard to interior linemen

I agree with the above comments......I think we need to match Davis. We played a lot of close games last year - special teams can be the difference in winning or losing. We have already bolstered our special team with K Vanderjagt and LB Boiman. I would like for us to either draft the K from the University of Memphis, or sign him after the draft, as a kickoff specialist. We also need to re-sign Davis. We are paper thin at S. Even if we draft a safety or two, we could still use Davis. Injuries always happen, and you can't have enough good safeties and special teamers. This price is a little high for a special teamer and a backup, but Davis is the kind of guy who does the little things to win football games that don't necessarily show up in the stat sheets.
