Kellen Moore, halftime adjustments

Finally.....the light at the end of the tunnel.

So now that we know the man crush is in full bloom, I guess we all can move onward through the fog.

Nothing to see here.

Yeah, they asked Garrett about halftime adjustments and his comments were that adjustments were being made all the time, so that poster is reflecting Garrett's opinion. Garrett can't make it seem like Moore has made that much of a difference because then he thinks that Moore would be considered a offensive whiz and because that is what JG is supposed to specialize in it would make him look bad. This is a zero sum game for Garrett, if Moore is looked at as the reason this offense has taken off (and it's true), the less credit JG gets for this team's success.

To answer the question, halftime adjustment do occur because it gives all the coaches a time to come together without the pressure of time to talk about what the other team is trying to do defensively, however adjustments also happen during the game.

Well straight from Garret’s mouth on the radio last week no verbatim but “we adjust play by play not by half time”

Strategically speaking in the Miami contest, their was no real difference in approach.

The adjustment you speak of was increased focus and better execution. That's all.

Moore's done a nice job but the Dolphins game 2nd half romp can be directly attributed to Dallas deciding it now wanted to play its brand of football instead of trying to impress everyone.

This what what JG said at the press conference after losses in prior years and it's also the reason why we loss a lot of games. I have more confidence in this team this year, more than I've had a since the 90s because we are no longer saying "everybody win their individual match up and we'll be successful" or relying on "if you're good enough it doesn't matter if they know what's coming". We now have teams guessing on what's coming next, they can't load the box or Dak will kill them, if they play nickle we'll run them to death. We've had the talent but we know have an advantage on the sideline that we haven't had since Jimmy coached and I'm loving it.

I see even more than just at the halftime, but that Kellen is making adjustment from series to series. He reminds me of Bill Walsh. He is a lifetime student of football. He did this for his father, who was winning state championships. We all have that "thing" that makes us excited to do, and we thrive in. Kellen certainty seems to have a genius mind with great capacity. And has focused that ability on the chess match that coordinating football is. We are very fortunate.

He's been saying that for years but it's strange that we haven't seen it manifest until this year. That crazy, I wonder what changed?

You’re right I have no idea but Garret this week went on the radio saying they adjust play by play so it is what is. How much do I believe it I don’t know.

Either he or Dak have been able to refocus the team after halftime.
I would say a lot of what we are seeing is Dak really jives with Moore's approach. One of the reasons I have never quite gotten the Dak hatred from some, is from the very start I saw arm strength, but even more so, the motivation to get better, to work. So this we are seeing, has felt natural to me. Dak's drive to succeed inspires the team. This is why comments we have read from players these past years have all been positive about Dak's ability. No one he plays with has ever questioned his ability.

Offensively.

While the defense has performed well, there has not been any major visible in-game adjustments by the defense. On the other hand, steady four-quarter defensive performance has worked well enough thus far...
Philadelphia wins by making offense and defensive adjustment. If we do not adjust and change up on both side of the ball we will have trouble. Adjustment is their strength. We play cookie cutter we can lose.

Well Here are the facts: Adjustments are made after every single series played during an NFL game on both sides of the ball. I am sure you have seen the coaches with the players with the tablets, white boards, etc talking to the players.. you think they are exchanging recipes? There is nothing magical about halftime. They have less time to discuss this stuff at half time than they do between series. But if you want to continue to believe that they have some magical moment where they re-design their game plan and coach the players on those changes in the 3 minutes they have with them, great, keep on trucking brother. And to imply that Garrett or any coach on any team in the NFL does not do adjustments during the game, halftime etc is either A. Agenda driven B. total lack of football knowledge. I don't care which category someone falls into, it's just stupid either way.

It's not a love fest with Garrett. He has many areas that can be and are criticized and rightfully so. But this adjustment non sense falls into the same category as Romo wearing his hat backwards affected his ability to play the QB position, and icing his own kicker.. both of which are totally crazy but they do fit within peoples agendas so they get re-hashed by stupid fans all the time.

It's not that I love Garrett, it's that I hate stupid.

What's stupid is the fact that you believe coaches go into halftime without enough time to make adjustments.

Nothing magical about halftime huh? Please, go into precise detail and inform the forum how did you come to that bold statement without having been in an NFL locker room, much less the cowboys locker room during any halftime event.......

The suspense is unbearable.

This should be mind blowing.

I agree with this ......... he seems like an entirely new QB this year mechanics wise.
