Kellen Moore has a blind spot. running the ball

I was speaking in general, we don't know any certainties. As many plays you suggest Prescott could have avoided I could suggest some plays resulted in sacks because Prescott clearly isn't as mobile as the past. Before his injury, he was more elusive. I hope that returns.

I know for certain that every offensive lineman who has ever been asked has stated that they prefer run blocking to pass blocking by a wide margin for the simple reason is that run blocking they get to be the HITTER while pass blocking they have to be the HITTEE. I do agree Dak looks less elusive since the injury.. but the problem is the KC game and the Denver game was that the pressure was coming from both sides and up the middle. It doesn't matter how elusive a QB is if you have him surrounded. If NONE of the offensive linemen wins there is simply nowhere to go. If even one wins there is at least a chance to escape.. Speaking of injury though, it just occurred to me that he did have that one pass early on where he was hit on his arm while trying to follow through. I am now wondering if that didn't tweak something in his shoulder that he just tried to play through.. I remember Troy saying something about "that looked bad but it looks like he's okay" and I made a mental note of it but I forgot about it until just now. Football's a tough game and guys have to play through a lot of pain.. But pain in the ribs or thigh aint the same as pain in the arm or shoulder for a QB. I really hope Dak's okay..

Not when we huddle up and come out in empty backfield he isn't.. And even if it were true.. Whose job is it to bring the QB over to the sideline and say "The passing game aint working right now, we can't block 'em and guys aren't getting open.. You've missed some throws and we've had some drops. Let's hit them in the mouth with the run a few times and see if we can soften 'em up and slow the rush down.. then we can come back to the pass after the running game gets their attention and they're not firing off the line coming after you like Olympic sprinters in the 100 meters. "

Moore is the offensive coordinator all week INCLUDING during the game.. Bill Parcells used to say "sometimes you have to be stubborn with the run." Meaning sometimes you have to run it just to show the defense that you're not scared of them. Even if you aren't getting big yardage, every time you let your offensive line hit the defensive line in the mouth you are taking a little starch out of them. You think fighting through double teams, legs getting rolled up, bodies falling on top of them doesn't take a toll on defensive linemen? As long as you are getting at least 3 yards per run play you keep doing it because it sets up everything else on your offense. People who only want to run the ball when it's picking up 6 ypc would have taken the ball out of Emmitt Smith's hands in 90% of his games because Emmitt rarely started out breaking off big runs.. He would peck away at the defense.. 2-3 yards at a time.. then gradually that would become 4-5 yards at a time.. then finally it would become 10+ yard runs by the 4th quarter. As long as your defense doesn't let the game get away you should ALWAYS have the running game in play. This isn't some brilliant revelation that only I know ... real football people have made a living out of trying to maintain some semblance of balance in their offense for as long as I have been watching football. Teams that don't even try have rarely accomplished anything worthwhile.. At the end of this season, if the Cowboys are one of those teams who doesn't bother to try and stay balanced, they will join the ranks of the "accomplished nothing worthwhile."

Daks been making a living taking what the defense gives him, if they giving him a run look he's running, if they give him a pass looks, like the man coverage they were giving he's taking it. Folks here cried about them slamming the running backs into crowded boxes. They're not going to take Daks ability to check in and out of plays being that's one of his strengths

I have been screaming this since he took over. He simply has no feel for how to use the running game to settle things down when the wheels are coming off. He does not understand that 2nd and 6 is better than 2nd and 10 or 2nd and 13 when your line is not pass blocking worth a damn. He fails to acknowledge when they are overmatched and adjust accordingly. The absolute BEST way to slow down a pass rush is to let the offensive line fire out into the d-line and take some of the starch out of it. Not keep dropping back and saying "Hail Mary don't let Dak get killed." Yesterday's game never got to more than two scores difference and the running game was averaging at least 4 yards a pop.. Yet we went 50 pass 16 run.. Friggin three to one ratio!!! Moore seems to have forgotten that when this offense was rolling it was closer to 50/50. I am discouraged by this because I honestly thought that the three game stretch when we killed people by being balanced he had figured it out. But these last 4 games show me he hasn't.. and if he hasn't by now.. he probably never will. Somebody needs to hire him as head coach somewhere.. Soon.

Kellen Moore's car has a bad wheel and if that wheel goes flat again all he has is a truck.
