If the Jags coaching job becomes available Kellen Moore might end up being a top candidate. Obviously having Trevor Lawrence makes the job attractive. The Cowboys can't have a repeat of the Sean Payton situation. Moore is only 33 years old and is a play calling maestro who makes excellent half time adjustments. He is a chess player while JG was a checkers player. McCarthy is an average JAG. Also if Kellen leaves I think Dak will leave as a free agent after his contract expires. You can tell that he has a great relationship with Kellen and he respects him. Kellen Moore has to be promoted to head coach this summer.

He sucked under Garrett and in a season with no off season. He is doing great now, does MM get any credit for that? I say, yes......he's not ready to be a hc.

I like Moore as OC, but HC is a completely different animal. It's much more responsibility and more to oversee, which could distract him from his play calling, or even cause him to give it up completely.

Kellen Moore is no dummy. He understands how difficult it is to survive as a HC in the NFL. A crap franchise like the Jaguars is an express train to failure. He will wait out an opportunity in Dallas and see how the Cowboys look at that time. He can always throw his hat in the ring for other jobs from there. He needs time to build relationships with coaches and other staff for the future and continue to grow and understand how to take on the responsibility as Head Coach and succeed.

Moore aint ready for to be head coach quite yet. Just watch how much he squirms during a press conference.

You do realize one of the first things MM said was he wasn't going to change a thing with the Offense and Kellen Moore right? He inherited a top 10 unit that Moore was putting together. You blow me away with your logic.

Bingo! x 10..........not every great X and O coach can handle OTHER duties of the job, such as leading 55 grown men. Ask Norv Turner, Wade Phillip, Rex Ryan, Mike Singletary etc.

BTW....not sure if OP heard but Stephen Jones has already admitted we'll probably lose Moore after the season.

If I was Moore I would certainly not want to go to the Jaguars. That entire organization is a mess. Plus he would be leaving a good position. The players and owners like him. He has a good relationship with Dak and he is blessed with a pletora of weapons.

If Jerry decides to give him a pay raise I doubt that Moore will want to go anywhere else but stay in Dallas. At least in the short term.

Kellen Moore would probably be a decent HC at some point, on the right team. Better coaches than him have failed horribly on terrible franchises like Jacksonville. Urban Meyer was a terrible choice though, a poster child example of a great college coach whose style is terrible for the NFL.
