The following article details the lack of motion in Dallas play-calling to end the season. Of course, people will naturally go directly to Moore, but I want to consider the fact that Moore was using it heavily to start the season, so claiming he doesn’t know how to use it is hard to substantiate. Further, it would be incorrect to say they didn’t stop using it. In reality, the data refer to lack of motion in certain scenarios.
Directly under Center, meaning DROPBACKS and we all know Dak’s limitations in this regard where it’s generality a 1-3 quick drop-back. The other scenario is in run plays.

STOP with the Dropback ridiculousness. I don't know where you made this deficiency up but it appears to be infecting the entire league as no one does it!

Yes, it is DAK's fault that we don't run more motion when we did it all training camp and emphasized it.

Again, the data only referenced dropbacks and run scenarios..

The Cowboys have traditionally been last in the league in terms of drop backs, because Dak sucks at the drop-backs.

Dak is basically a shotgun QB. This data apparently didn’t include the motion from shotgun.

You don’t even know what your talking about.

Dallas has been LAST IN THE LEAGUE in dropbacks from Center when Dak stepped into the league. Guys like McVay with Goff still ran more traditional drop back snaps in 2018 than the rest of the league, meaning even their ‘scrub’ QB can do it, meaning even Goff isn’t limited like Dak.

Further, going more spread doesn’t mean teams don’t run traditional drop backs as a significant portion of their plays.

Also, QBs can run three step drops from shotgun and Dak suck at that too.

Also, to point out, Kyle Shanahan when he ran the number 1 offense in Atlanta, they were the LOWEST team in the league in shotgun usage, meaning 37.5% of plays.

In fact, KS said you have more options under center as far as play action and run options. His mentor Kubiak, the very same year, ran the second fewest.

In fact, in 2016 when Dak first came on the scene and he was basically just having the ball off and Linehan had him using play-action to a rank of third in the league, they were among the top 8 offenses, of which 5 of them were the least in shotgun usage. This was before Dallas thought he was “Air Dak”.

So Kyle Shanahan offense being at the top in terms of motion, as it relates to drop back under Center, doesn’t seem surprising.

I'd wager that whenever motion is used the defense knows exactly which play is coming.

Someone said above....Moore somehow turned into Garrett in November.

He probably never wasn't.

Not everyone can be great and many times players will fail to excute....

But you CAN'T be predictable to the point where it appears that every time you attempt a running play they knew it was coming.

If being "creative" is using double reverses inside the five then I could live without it.

I was listening to one of the Dallas talk shows and one guy said Jerry told them to stop with the motion. The guy said there was a rumor running around about this and if true we are screwed for the foreseeable future. I could believe Jerry would do this...Thoughts??

anybody who wants a refresher watch our first game and the playoff game, its like Moore got dumber and dumber as the season went on.
I thought maybe this guy is saving his "good stuff" for the playoffs....very odd how bad all this got from week to week.

I find that hard to believe. Why would Jerry have anything to say about what the offense was looking like when it was hitting on all cylinders?

Just to show you how ludicrous your assertion is...your article is LITERALLY about how teams use the shotgun almost exclusively...lol. It literally says about 80% of all pass plays were from the shotgun. That was 5 years ago...I guarantee it is over 90% now.

But ya...it is all Dak's fault. Your narratives are so ridiculous.
