Keep on putting all your faith into the coach with his one playoff win (over a dismantled Eagles team, no less)

I don't mean to interrupt your grudge match here, but I was wondering why you considered the Weables "dismantled"? IIRC they were one of the hottest teams at the end of the season (as it seems almost every year).

Paragraph 1) Refer to 1995 season. A garbage Commanders roster, led by such greats like Gus Frerrote and Heath Shuler swept the would be Superbowl champion Cowboys. That Cowboys team was great inspite of the dismal coaching of Barry Switzer, and nobody in the NFL could compete, which is not the case in 2010 with the Cowboys vs the rest of the NFL

And in 1991, Dallas lost in the divisional round. But in 1992, they won the Super Bowl.

Do you think Dallas is going to win the Super Bowl next year?

2) There have been all of 2 moves made this offseason and nobody knows in what ways Shanahan has adjusted his coaching style or strategy. Shanahan also starts with a better D then he had in his 3 years in Denver, the one year he got good D play he ended up in the AFC title game (not saying the Commanders are going to the NFC title game or even the playoffs for the next 2 seasons)

His D in Washington is better, but his O is considerably worse. He's not going to have a system of successful offensive lines and running backs to help him. Not to mention there is that mess of a QB he inherits.

:laugh1:That game represents how close the 2 franchises are.

I swear, these guys look for any shining light in their bleak fan existence.

Nope. 1991 isn't 2009, 1992 won't be 2010

You seem to misinterpret my posts. You know, places where I say the talent on the Commanders is garbage and where I predict the Commanders will go 3-13 next year.

However, he has much better D talent to start off with then he ended with in Denver. And he does have a track record of building a good offense (see his 2006 draft). It certainly won't be next year he turns things around, and probably not in 2011 either. But he'll have a very good chance at beating Wade, like Norv had in 1995 beating Switzer despite a vastly inferior team to work with

2010 won't be 1995 for the Commanders either.

Just 2009 all over again.

Ok, he has a much better D. I'm not impressed, the O still sucks.

You can't say that I shouldn't comment on the roster, yet you keep on doing so. Every time you say the D is different than in Denver, I'm going to keep on pointing out how the O is worse.

Probably. The schedule is much worse, the O talent is worse (unless there are some draft day miracles). And again, reading comprehension. Look at my last 5 posts about Commanders 2010=3-13

Yea, the O is complete garbage. I think we both agree on that. Not too hard to see the obvious is it?

Now once Shanhan improves the O, and he has a track record of improving an offense at every NFL stop he has been at, including re-tooling the Denver O in 2006, he'll have a much better D to work with then he had in Denver. He never had a Brian Orakpo, he had the Browns d-line :lmao2:

Better then standing still with Coach Creampuff :)

Mabye Bill Cowher will save you in 2011? It'd be almost a perfect fit as Shanny to Dallas

2009 was also the Cowboys sweeping the skins handily, no chance of being upset. That is the main point of your 1995 example of the skins playing the spoiler was it not? Yes it was.

No chance of being upset?

Down 6-0 with 3 minutes in the 4th quarter is no chance of being upset?

Not by your pathetic O. No.

And what would that make your team losing 6-0 at home with 3 minutes in the 4th to the division 2 team we fielded last year?

Honestly, beating a D-2 team 7-6 at home, after the Commanders kicker (who became the Cowboys kicker :) ) misses 2 kicks, isn't exactly something to crow about.

With the talent the Cowboys had, it should have been 34-3 Dallas ;)
