I've been a little bit disappointed in Bishop, but overall, I think the team is and should be pretty happy with him. He's definitely earned the chance to be on the roster for a year, and I think there was only a slight chance of him not making the original cut. He's a player I could see us risk exposing in a real pinch, but overall I think that's unlikely.

Coleman, though...that guy looks like he's got a shot at being a starter in the league at some point if he can keep up his current trajectory. Between that first step, and the lean he generates into the gap. He's been fun to watch.

Then he should fit well seeing as the whole defense is made up of below average to average players.

Good stuff as usual, Fuzzy. For those who say that the Cowboys did nothing towards their weakness this off season...I would just point out Bishop, Coleman, Melton, and Lawrence. Then remind about Crawford, Spencer, Selvie, and even Wilber. At least this fan can see growth and a future to build from there.

Instead of a drive by shooting, explain yourself with why you say all is average...oh, and give some supporting explanation beyond a Playtex bra advertisement and review.

th need to poke a stick at very positive comment shows the sorry state of fans
and this is a view of the fan regardless of the situation of the cowboys

Not buying it. He's average at best.

i don't see any potential in Bishop or Coleman . I doubt they'd make any other 53 man rosters. They both looked bad in preseason . At best they'll become average run stuffers but , as of now they're both poor.

He was noticeable in the preseason games, both him and Coleman both made you take notice of em. There here to stay for this year unless Demarcus Ware gets cut.

really ? i noticed them getting blown off the ball more than anything specifically Coleman.

Tony Romo was also bad in his rookie preseason. He was horrible according to Broaddus. People do improve with repetition and experience. Some don't, some do.

I will entertain your pessimism for a second. I will admit, both Coleman and Bishop looked like speed bumps with a few flashes of good plays early but they improved. Do me a favor when you get some time. Go watch our first preseason game, focus on them. Then go watch the last preseason game, and again, focus on them. Please let me know what you come up with.

He certainly looks like he has some promise. Hopefully he grows into a starting role.

I wanted bishop to make the team just for his horse collar tafkle. Ok im overreacting but there are no stars on this defense. Scandrick, carr, melton and spencer are the only ones you can say are above average. Spencer is hurt and who knows if he plays. I dont think meltons is ready and who knows how good he'll be after his injury. Oscan is suspended and I don't know if carr has his head on straight. Durants the best lb we have and thats not saying much. Carter doesn't even deserve to start because he just goes through the motions and slacks off. After that we dont know whats at lb. I dont think any of our lb's or dl would start on any of the other 31 teams. Only person we have to count on dl wise is selvie and hes hurt and only played last year. We dont know what we have beyond that either. The cowboys are not putting together a win now team and thats obvious. If they are building for the future thats great if we ever get a decent qb by the time this team is ready because romo will be done by then. It just seems to me that jj is fielding a team to fill a roster to play and im not seeing much talent brought in yet. We wont know for a while how talented this young team is. 18 years of being bad besides one season and it looks as if theres more years of this to come.

Pessimist's take on anything is highly dubious.

He doesn't need to spend time actually watching the games. He can make snarky comments and get the reactions from people that he craves without putting any effort into it.

Forgot about church. I love church but he seems about average so far. He can tackle but lacks some in cover which can be improved. Hes mainly a ss so his primary responsibility is the run. I'd still rather have sensabaugh at fs over anything we've had sense and thats just sad. I dont think wilcox is the answer.
