Panthers CB Lucas leaves with groin injury
NFL.com wire reports
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 29, 2006) -- Carolina cornerback Ken Lucas left the Panthers' game against the Dallas Cowboys with a groin injury.
Lucas was injured in the first quarter when he tackled Terrell Owens after a 6-yard completion. He got up slowly, limped back to the huddle, but had trouble on the next play -- he fell down behind the ball, which was intercepted by teammate Chris Gamble.
Lucas had difficulty sitting up on the bench, and was limping toward the locker room when Carolina converted the turnover into a touchdown by Steve Smith one play later. Lucas' return was questionable.
Panthers rookie Richard Marshall replaced him, drawing the Owens assignment. He batted away a ball in the end zone during the second quarter.
