The Lions are beat up and lack weapons in the passing or running game . Goffs best target to throw to is his TE Hockenson who’s one of the few bright spots from the previous Coach GM train wreck . Kenneth Walker might be the first RB to go off the board in 22 draft wouldn’t look bad in a Lions uniform .

Similar to Etienne who sadly got hurt out for the yr in Jacksonville .

Timbs excellent post on the first round has Walker going late first round to the Chargers who already have a decent back in Eckler . Wherever Walker ends up he’s a threat that opens up any teams passing game by having a threat on the ground similar to what Taylor does for that Colt offense and what Zeke and Pollard open up in Daks passing game .

And Timbs mock draft fo
This is an oddly specific post about the Lions need.

Just looking at what teams need juice to get the ball to the end zone . Where Detroit will draft possible one or two on the board round one they may go for defensive help .

The Miami Dolphins would be an interesting place for Walker to land . Give the Dolphins a threat on the ground to open things up for Tua.

In the mess of the Jets Colts game Michael Carter stood out as one of the bright sports for the Jets. Can help keep the chains moving either run or catching passes . This is what Walker would do in the NFL

Not sure why we are worried about other teams’ needs. We have our own and no one can tell what team will take what player in what spot.

Talking “ NFL Draft “ . That’s why it’s called the “ Draft Zone “ forum . The Cowboy forum is north of this one. Bye .

Barkley n Gibson are solidified as RB1, and the Eagles don't run the ball..think its safe.

“ Barkley “ ? When is he healthy . I don’t think he’s going to be able to stay upright for 17 games ever

Spending an early round draft pick on RB is a complete waste of draft capital IMO…it’s the most replaceable position on the roster.

I hope one of our division rival drafts him in the 1st.

Dallas has needs on the interior of both sides of the trenches just pointing out the drop between Pollard to Corey Clement is like going off the cliff . Edge rusher is a definite need plus Oline the tackles in particular .

Yes Neal Anderson a good comparison , maybe not Dallas but a team with a need to stretch the chains on the ground , catch some out of the backfield mid to late first round you could do worst then Walker. The team in his backyard the Lions if they had multiple firsts or the early second round pick if he’s still sitting there.

After witnessing the Thanksgiving festivities seeing a beat up #21 in yr 6 of a career with a heavy workload and #20 entering his last year of being signed by Dallas in 2022 how much of a “luxury” really is another weapon on the ground in the 2022 draft ?

The preseason castoffs brought in yearly have zero chance of helping Dak and the drop off from Pollard to Corey Clement is like falling off a cliff.

Man cannot survive on bread alone and an offense has to be able to move the ball from both pass and run unless you want # 4 facing 7 in coverage constantly . Something for Will McClay to think about as the O/line and really much of the D need help .

And if you think Anthony Brown got lit up by the officials and DeSean Jackson yesterday think about the fact that neither Joseph or Nashon Wright have made any contribution this year in the secondary.

For the officials to toss Joseph out of the game on a special teams play and seeing Wright commit yet another dumb penalty on special teams all you can hope is either one of these two high drafted players have a better second year or can do anything in the last six games and the playoffs.

Say Elliott misses the Saints game ok Pollard starts then what ? Corey Clement cannot block for Dak probably won’t get many positive yards on the ground the only way I see Clement do anything is catch passes out in the flat .

Pollard is signed for one more year then Zeke is in yr 7 which is a lifetime in running back yrs, Walkwr would make a nice addition to this roster next yr, maybe round 2 if he’s still sitting there.

Bc you just don’t draft RBs early…it’s an awful use of draft capital.

Right and when you get 67 yards on the ground all game and your QB is slinging it around 47 times and you still lose then you got an L . I would point out both Elliott and Pollard turned out to be exactly what the offense needs. Ability to run the ball catch the ball and in Elliott’s case block protect the QB. Neither 21 or 20 were wasted “ draft capital “ . I know the spares they bring in for preseason won’t help this team at all .

It’s the most replaceable position on the roster…with a good OL and scheme and decent RB can have success. Look around the league…that’s why these no name backups go for 100 yards almost every week.

Drafting Zeke in the top 5 and giving him a monster contract is arguably the worst personal decision this team has made in years.

Zeke I would argue was one of the best picks in the first round the Cowboys have made . Same as Pollard where he was drafted , great value.

You can’t ask Dak to throw 45 times a game in a 17 game season and expect health longevity . Regardless of where Dallas picks a RB in a draft non of the people acting as cannon fodder in preseason will help this club.

Exhibit A . Najee Harris Steelers . I think they like that pick , has helped balance the offense taken some pressure off an aging QB.

I understand the Cowboys have holes in the lines both sides of the ball but this position maybe soon will need an injection of youth & speed .
