Kenneth Walker III

It’s the most replaceable position on the roster…with a good OL and scheme and decent RB can have success. Look around the league…that’s why these no name backups go for 100 yards almost every week.

Drafting Zeke in the top 5 and giving him a monster contract is arguably the worst personal decision this team has made in years.

Yep.

Another point to be made is that when the Cowboys took Zeke at #4 overall, they instantly put him in the Top 3 in terms of salary at the position as a rookie.

Ramsey’s rookie contract made him the 44th highest paid DB in the league at the time.

That’s just not smart roster building IMO.

Zeke I would argue was one of the best picks in the first round the Cowboys have made . Same as Pollard where he was drafted , great value.

You can’t ask Dak to throw 45 times a game in a 17 game season and expect health longevity . Regardless of where Dallas picks a RB in a draft non of the people acting as cannon fodder in preseason will help this club.

Im not…I’m asking the team to build a quality OL and draft a mid round RB (like Pollard) and spend the money and early picks elsewhere.

Exhibit A . Najee Harris Steelers . I think they like that pick , has helped balance the offense taken some pressure off an aging QB.

I understand the Cowboys have holes in the lines both sides of the ball but this position maybe soon will need an injection of youth & speed .

The Steelers offense is terrible this year…wasting a 1st round pick on a RB doesn’t change the fact they have a below average QB or help the franchise long term moving forward.

I’ll never get over taking Zeke over Ramsey…ever.

Your right about that Rothelsberg is cooked that’s not Najee Harris fault. At least when you bring on a new QB he will have weapons at wideout and RB to work with the cupboard is not bare .

I’m not following . Ramsey was 44 highest paid DB why ?

Byron Jones was a number one and he held that position down very nicely , how did taking Byron Jones with a number one pick ( insert Jalen Ramsey ) how did taking a DB with a high pick help the Cowboys win ?

Mo Claiborne and now Kelvin Joseph and Nashon Wright all high picks …one could argue spending high on the draft board on a DB is “ wasted capital “ . The Cowboys narrowly avoided a real mess by taking a Surtain or a JC Horn over Micah Parsons. Parsons is right now our only pressure player to the QB . Jerry and the War room lucked into a franchise player much like Zeke was when taken .

Rookie contact based on their slot in the draft.

RBs do not command top dollar in FA agency because 1) the position is not valued; and 2) the talent pool is much deeper.

Also, elite talent at CB is infinitely harder than finding talent at RB.

I don’t think the Broncos have any buyers remorse with Surtain. They needed a CB and they got a good one.

Now I admit Re signing Zeke at high $ was a cap problem im talking strictly draft choice not Re sign

He was one of best CBs in football on a rookie deal when we had him at one of the highest paid positions in football…that’s how. He was never the reason we were losing.

We lucked into Parsons? He was the best defender in the draft and he’s living up to the projections…I’m lost.

You sound lost. We lucked into Parsons when Surtain and Horn left the draft board before Jerry made the phone call “ hello Micah this is Jerry , Jerry Jones “ ….otherwise # 11 would be wearing a different untiform.

Byron Jones or no Byron Jones the defense was middle to lower of the pack .

Parsons was a better prospect than both CBs we just needed a CB more…we made the right pick because we took the BPA and it’s paying off. Dude is a DROY lock and is playing himself into DPOY conversation.

Would you honestly want one of those CBs over Parsons?

I guess your not following me . I prefer Parsons over any CB .

Bc you just don’t draft RBs early…it’s an awful use of draft capital.
Depends on the RB. Some are game changers.
I would gladly burn a late round 1st on this guy when he enters the draft.

No, I don't think it really does. Look at the last few elite RBs that have come out...Saquon, Elliot, Fournette, etc...none of them have elevated their team to a big playoff run or Super Bowl.

The position just isn't that valuable. It can be easily replaced and it can be completely erased in a game if a team gets down and has to throw or if the opposing D sells out for the run.

Anyone thrilled with this position ? Pollard one year from FA and # 21 one year from the broadcast booth . Need an infusion at this position at some point and Corey Clement doesn’t cut it . Walker balances out the passing game threats already here , play action pass , screens , gets to the edge. Walker helps .
