Kevin Burnett

Can't blame him for wanting to get the hell out of Dallas.

Actually, he wanted to stay but Dallas made little attempt to resign him. I believe Dallas gave him a low offer.

The opposite.....Dallas matched the offer and he took the SD offer instead.

Correct, he wanted to start and Dallas couldn't guarantee it so he left for SD.

Should have given him the keys to the starting ILB spot in 2008. Both him and Stephen Cooper are better overall ILBs than what we have now. I wouldn't mind going after Cooper in free agency. He's old but he's smart. I don't think Sean Lee is ready to start, especially given the way this team has been hesitant to get their young LBs on the field.

I was a super big fan of Kevin Burnett...you could tell he is a killer athlete and I remember one play at ILB where he stepped up, filled a hole, and just tattooed some RB in the most well-formed tackle way...he is exactly what we need.

Having said that, he was just snake bitten in terms of injury here and he got the sense we was going to stay in the nickel role and he wanted more...so can't blame the Cowboys at all on this one.
