What do you guys think of this guy.

I really like him as a 2nd round prospect. He has a very well rounded game. Athletic guy who has a solid but not elite arm and understands how to go threw progessions and how to run an offense.

I think we will have Romo for 1 more year. Hogan is a guy that comes in ready to play if Romo gets hurt, but would really benefit from a year of working on a few mechanical issues and his footwork.

While he looks like a very good NFL starter, I dont think he has the physical tools to challenge Moriata, Hundley, Winston and even Cook in the draft. Looks like a 2nd rounder to me. Lets us get our future QB and get an elite pass rusher in the first

I like him more than the scouts do. Listed anywhere from 6th to UFA. Has some nice tools but also some holes in his game.

I don't see how they can get 6th. Most places I've seen ( which at this point isnt many) have him as a day 2 guy.

I think he is Garapollo level as a prospect. A guy with the talent and mind of a top starter but needs to develope

We will know how much longer we will have romo depending on how they handle his contract after the season.

If they don't touch it and keep his cap hit at 27 million then yes probably just one more year. So I would understand drafting a QB early.

If Jerry restructures his salary for next year to lower the cap hit the Romo is around another 3 years atleast. Then there will be no reason for a 2nd round QB.

Given his injuries, age and the fact he is losing velocity off his ball, I think you have to eat the 27 million. We will still be able to ink Dez, but it will keep us out of the FA market ( which is good)

The Raiders just benched Carr. Me wonderz if he can be attainable for good value if the Raiders go with a new coach and plan on drafting a QB next. I like him alot and I think he could thrive here. Maybe a 3rd and a conditional (as low as a 5th, possibly another 3rd)

They reported that Carr was injured not benched.

I think Dallas drafts a QB this next draft no matter what they do with Romo's contract. It may not be in the first round, but I bet they take someone in the 2nd or 3rd.

My gut tells me they arent gonna stick with Carr next season. I think they will have a new coach and a top 2 pick, maybe even #1. I dont think a new coach is gonna stick with Carr if he can get Moriata.

On the same hand, even if that happens doesn't necessarily mean Carr becomes available. They could very well still hold onto him

So let me get this straight. You want to cut romo who is 2-1 right now and is a proven starting top 12 QB in the NFL, for a rookie QB that has been benched and is 0-4. Also you want to take 35 million I dead money. That will be the cap hit if he is released.

Do you think before you type. Next time read it before you hit reply.

If we release romo it will be 36 million not 27 million. Where you getting the cap space now to resign Dez and Murray and McClain.

People just need to face it and get over it and shut up. Romo is the QB for the nest 3 years.

Where did I say anything about cutting Romo?

Id like to see that part of any of my posts before you put words in my mouth and make me look like a moron

That's how I took it
Well thats not what I said. Any informed fan would know cutting Romo after 2014 is practically impossible.

We need to groom someone to replace him. If the option was there I would rather see if we can get value on Carr as opposed to drafting from the tier 2 of this years draft

Did you mean let him play at 27 million and not restructure?

Then besides drafting a QB trade for Carr to sit behind Romo.

I'm not a big Carr fan but just depends on which QB is there in the 3rd or 4th. I'm against drafting a qb in the first 2 rounds unless there is a need for a day one starter.

let him play at 27 million in 2014 and get out of his contract as quickly as feasible. As much as that sucks we cant restructure him and keep him digging keep pushing money forward for aging players. Romo's effectivness is waning and he has maybe 1 more year as a winning starting QB.

It almost as bad to restructure him as it is to cut him this year. Even if its not its still the type move we need to be making if we truly are commited to getting rid of bad long term investments.
We're screwed either way.
