I keep forgetting about this guy. He was doing a solid job his rookie year for us and then missed all of last season.

Is there any news on him? Can he play guard?

Maybe the Cowboys think Leary is going to step up this year?

If Frederick is for sure a center than i'm not sure what we do with Costa & Kowalski.

I think Livings is pretty much out the door.

Basically we need Arkin, Kowalski, Costa, or Leary to step up and be a little better than average. That would be so huge for us.

BTW, How did Leary look in the pre-season last year? I don't recall.

Brian B said that Leary was looking better after he got on the practice squad. He said that Leary was having trouble with the mental part of the game. They said he became better after running the scout teams against the first team defense. I look for him to compete this year, starter? Probably not.

No news on Kowalski, maybe that's good.

Kowalski can play center or guard. I would think that he would be an ideal swing player if he cannot grab a starting spot. I seem to remember that the coaches were pretty high on him at the end of 2011.

It's all about power/size for Kowalski. He has very good quickness and appeared to know how to play the game in the snaps that he received in 2011.

The Giants used a 1st round pick and what appeared to be his twin brother, Justin Pugh. When I watched Pugh and reviewed his measureables, I just kept thinking, what is the difference between this guy and Kevin Kowalski. Pugh is about 1" taller, both have the exact same 31.5" arm length and both have good quickness but are underpowered. Apparently the Cowboys were interested in Pugh which makes me much happier that they got Frederick.

Leary has no issues with physical ability. He has the power and quickness required for an NFL player. He looked good at the beginning of Training Camp last year; however, he had to play/practice 2x or 3x the normal number of snaps due to all the injuries. By the last couple of preseason games, he did not look good. He said that he was just spent physically by that time.

I like Kowalski over Arkin. I think Livings is better than Bernadeau. I think Leary and Kowalski probably are the best interior depth.

Tackle is still a huge question mark.

I see our OL as being

T - Smith, Free, Parnell
G - Livings, Costa, Leary
C - Frederick, Kowalski

We have three guys that can play C/G so we have position flexibility. Leary and Livings are just G. All three Tackles can play either side with some level of effectiveness.

It's possible we keep Bernadeau over Livings, which would be a bad move as far as I am concerned.

This is the kind of line that Garrett wants.

Well here is the thing about Livings vs Bernadeau.

I too think Livings is better but Bernadeau does offer more versatility.

There were some people that said Bernadeau had a better year than Livings. I didn't see it that way.

But if Bernadeau does get demoted to 2nd string he could save some roster spots on Sunday because he can play all of those interior positions.

Kowalski is definitely an asset as depth at 2 positions.
