Running back Kevin Smith is returning for his senior season at UCF, the junior announced officially at the Knights' Liberty Bowl Press Conference this afternoon at Bright House Networks Stadium.
"My decision is I will be returning to UCF next semester and next season," he said. "...I have a lot of things I want to work on. Before I make that jump I have a lot I want to accomplish and work out."
Smith became the first back in state history to surpass 2,000 yards rushing in a season this year. His 2,448 and 30 touchdowns heading into the Dec. 29 Liberty Bowl are also just 180 yards shy of tying former Oklahoma State standout Barry Sanders for Division I-A's all-time single-season mark.
