I agree he needs to get some slot time ....... but the kid has already played a full season and a half of football.

I expect him to get a much bigger load next year after a full off-season of rest and playbook study.

well stated. No problem with let him run a deep pattern to pull the defenders and hit some crossing in the open spot

he’s too valuable re his positive return ability to have soMeone just injure him
To remove him
As that weapon

If the front office doesn’t want to improve the WR group then the coaching staff should take it on their shoulder to give Turpin a full WR role and give the WR group a boost.

He is the perfect compliment to the running game as a slot player and a deep threat.
Why? Can he run fast? Yes we know that. But...

Route running? Downfield blocking? Go through defenders to fight for the ball? Check down blocking? Stay healthy battling bigger players?

I have plenty of reason to say no. A few snaps in the slot, yes. Otherwise no.

We saw this same thread the other day.

And we saw Turpin get a few plays.

You can't play him full time. He'll get hurt.

I'm all for thinking about ways to improve the team, but I'm very confused by the word deserve....what has Turpin done to deserve anything other than a special teams role?

He's quick. I think a spot role would be good. I dunno about full time, but anytime we need 4 WRs, I'd put him at slot. His speed makes him a player that'd scare defences.

All we need is Dak to zip a ball into him in the slot, and Turp gets smashed. He is way too small to play full time

Everyone do remember the picks set at NE, stick him in the slot, pick and send him deep on the fly. You have to get creative and with his speed the secondary is already like “what in the h—-“. You make 7 figures for a reason, put your brains to work. Remember you can’t touch after 5 yards but the picks helps that.

Turpin is a wonderful weapon as a return specialist and an occasional offensive feature. He is NOT an every down player. I’ve seen video of him from practice having great difficulty getting off the los. Sure he could play from the slot but on running plays he would be a complete liability. His greatest value is giving us great field position to start drives.

agree, most are saying not to play him every offense series, heck one series a half. You could use him even as a decoy, but your OC has to have a creative mind.

He doesn't deserve a shot.
He has to earn a shot

He's fine in his role now.

It’s probably never occurred to the coaching staff to use Turpin as a WR. He probably has mad route tree skills hidden up his sleeve, plus he’s just the right size to run over any water boy who dares to try and tackle him.

Catching punts and kick-offs without a defender in sight and then running fast requires almost exactly the same skill set as running a pass route blanketed by a CB. Can’t believe he’s not WR1 already.

Stupid coaches……..

He can run routes better than CD and has sure hands. His ability to be a deep threat will force a safety to be on his side.

Sounds like you were trying to make a Zeke is better than Pollard argument.

110% wrong, I have seen him get separation and make plays downfield and unlike Beta Lamb he won’t have a 30% drop rate.

Only an outdated mind set would say some stuff like that.
