The drafting of Murray (rb), signings of Elam (s), Fiametta (fb), Robinson (wr) and resigning of Sensabaugh (s) and Holland (g) is proving to be good moves made in the offseason. Most of these moves were not welcomed by most at the time because they were not sexy picks. The scouting department made good solid moves especially now with the injuries to Austin and Felix Jones.

I'd like to add NOT getting rid of Newman, as so many of the experts here had decried mandatory to our success.

It's rather odd that some of our best contributors of late: Robinson, Holland, and Fiametta, were virtually picked up off the street in-season.

I still feel like cutting Gurode was a mistake though. Plenty of successes to outweigh that, but I wish he was still around, even as a backup.

If Jerry catches all the personnel grief (a lot of it deserved), then he also deserves the credit.

This year's moves are definitely key to the positive vibe.

Let's also not forget Bailey.

I hear you.

He was offered a renegotiated deal as a backup but he refused.

Gurode has a degenerative knee so he isn't going to be part of our long-term future. Whether he fit better with what Garrett wants now than Costa does is another issue.

Ultimately, I suspect Center is going to be a high priority area at the end of the year. Costa is just too limited to be a fixture at such an important part of the OL. He can slug it out with Kowalski for the backup role next year.

Newman has two years left on his $50M 6-year deal signed back in 2008 after the end of the season.

My only concern with Newman is the number of soft tissue injuries he seems to be battling lately.
