Yep. About 30 miles.

I had a serious girlfriend of about 10 years and her brother was in the prison there for several years.
I remember vividly she would show to visit him and they would turn her away because her shoes exposed her toes.

That place was no joke. I helped raise his son, who was autistic. I handed him (his son) my entire comic book collection I made when I was a teen.
I hoped it would give him some money for college, or something and it ended up buying his momma a home.
No regrets. I'd do that again 100 out of 100 times.
That boy and his momma deserved it. Good kid. I wish I could give him time again, but it's just not in the cards.

Once upon a time, that entire area has really grown since...

From McAllen to Brownsville and all the other little cities in between there’s gotta be close to 3/4 of a million people down there if not more...

I had a BBQ for a few Cowboys players at my ranch a few years ago. Close to 200 coaches from around the area showed up. It was a great time. George Teague, Everson Walls, Larry Brown and a few more where here.
