Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong because this play is bothering me. The second time Keyshawn caught a quick WR screen for good yardage was the play where he literally broke the corners ankles for what looked like about a 15 yard play and A FIRST DOWN? After the injury timeout I look at the screen and it's second and 1? JJ gets stuffed then we throw another WR screen to Glenn which doesn't work. How was Keyshawn's play not a first? Did he step out? This was a critical drive.. I believe the score was 21-21 after the Cundiff missed fg drive. Any thoughts?

I was screaming at the t.v. for the very same reason, i know he was at least 2 yards past the first down...when it came up 3rd and a short 2 i was like....***?????that was huge.....but im NOT blaming the refs for this one...

I thought i missed a play or something, because he looked like he got about 15 yrds on that play and a 1st down.

I was thinking the same thing. Unless he stepped out he looked like he had the 1st easy. THAT was big.

He was definitely in bounds, no idea why they didn't challenge it, but who cares. There isn't a damn thing they can do about right now.

Parcells can pull a "Gibbs" and send it to the office for review..... :lmao2:

That play didn't cost us the game...

I did look at it on my TIVO, but the only replay was from the sidelines with a bunch of people in the way. Still, it didn't look like Key was near the sideline until after he got the first. I had the same feeling like I missed a play or penalty. Turns out that those were important yards.

My 13 year old son said the same thing. He said it was 1st down but when they came back from the commercial, they were running it up the middle on 2nd and 2, so we couldn't figure it out.

If anyone has the play recorded look at the play as it was originally shown and see what it showed. That sideline ref was horrible at spotting the ball.

I know and this wasn't designed to be a Gibbs/Extremeskins style rant... just a small observation of something really wierd!

CBS, trying to squeeze in yet another $#@! commercial, totally dropped the ball on that coverage. We guessed that Keyshawn had to have been ruled out of bounds before the marker. It didn't look like he was out of bounds to me, but what do I know.

Key had the first down easy!! I've watched it over and over again, he had it by a 1rd and a half.

Our coaches in the booth fell asleep!! don't blame the refs. Blame the blind mice in the booth.

I was thinking the Julius run was 1st down and then after he was stopped I was surprised to see it was 3rd and one.
With a house full of people I thought I just missed something, but now it makes sense.

yeah I think most people saw it and wondered...I know I did and I was actually on the phone with a Cowboys fan when we went to break asking the same question...he was assuring me it WAS a 1st down and when we came back, low and behold it was 3rd and 1 and not 2nd and 9 or 10

we had a challenge available too...I'm thinking since it happened on our sideline someone must have agreed with the call (maybe even Keyshawn himself, I didnt see him protesting it)

if not, letting that slip through was really stupid...on the other hand, Cuncrap had already blown one gimmee, whats to say he wouldnt blown another one

YEP. I was thinking the same. I thought he gained about 15yds. Even in slowmotion it looked like that.

But there was no flag thrown and all of a sudden the call was 2nd and one and i was just so in the game that i lost it. But sure i thought he had way enough yds gained for the first.

But again - nobody on the team complained about it?!

Well it was right in front of our bench so I'm sure if he handn't been out of bounds, they would have challenged like they did on Jones' play earlier.

I thought he made a first down too, but neither Nantz nor Simms said anything either.

I am more upset that on the two quick hits to Keyshawn on he ran down the sideline and went out of bounds instead of lowering his shoulder for extra yards. Of course, we wouldnt be having this discussion if our OL could get us enough push to get a 1st down after having a 2nd and 2.
