Funny, I was wondering yesterday if he wished he had taken our measly 2 million to be our third receiver. Things have not gone well for Key in Carolina.

he didn't he left for a payday and what he thought was a chance at the super bowl. On paper they did look amazing before the season started. Unless this is another satire type thread and then in that case, terry glenn punches babies.

Keyshawn coulda played one hell of a second tight end in our offense

He left for money. He got what he wanted. OTOH, no way in HELL would Key and TO have existed together.

After he was release by Dallas he said this "I've never played with a real QB." Well Keyshawn what about now? Sucks huh? We got Romo you got crap over there.

kind of funny,

2003 cowboys 10-6 playoffs no keyshawn
2004 cowboys 6-10 no playoffs keyshawn
2005 cowboys 9-7 no playoffs keyshawn
2006 cowboys at least 9-7 and playoffs no keyshawn

2005 panthers playoffs no keyshawn
2006 panthers no playoffs keyshawn

Obviously I am just having fun here, but maybe he is resented. He was voted by the players as the guy who takes plays off and plays hard when he feels like it second most to randy moss.

I think they were doomed from the start(we were supposed to be doomed from the start) because Steve Smith openly DID NOT accept Key when he was signed..... WE, the Dallas Cowboys accepted Owens even before the signing...

THAT is the difference IMO

BTW... I think Steve Smith is close to as many drops as TO.

I know everyone loves to blow smoke up Smith's hole but there is something about him that annoys the crap out of me. I can't pinpoint it but it's there.

Do you notice that we don't have the problems on our team that Carolina has. I'm referring to WR Steve Smith's open reluctance to accept Keyshawn. You don't hear any Cowboys players openly refuse to accept any player; we appear to welcome all who can help us--even TO. Actually, want to correct that statement as I just remembered that it reported the team didn't want Vanderjagt to stay cause he a cancer in the lockerroom. But except for that one incident our players have accepted everyone else. I really think it's got something to do with whose in control -- the coach or a prima dona player.

Also somebody posted above that Keyshawn would have really been a good TE in our offense. Keyshawn is certainly big enough and good possession player for us. Wonder if that possibility was discussed before we cut him or was it simply felt he and TO wouldn't get along plus we reluctant pay Keyshawn money we think he was going to demand to stay around.

Lets pretend for a moment that Keyshawn comes available next off-season and we ditch TO. Do we go after him and draft a young WR? Sounds like a good off-season plan to me. I like Keyshawn.

smith is very whiny. Nobody ever brings up that he accused tyrone poole of spitting in his face in the super bowl in 03. He went crazy and said poole spit in his face and then taunted him.

the league never found evidence and poole had no idea what he was talking about, yet smith is a good guy.

i dont think it sways him from being a good guy or bad guy but it is petty to say that if it didnt happen.

Maybe I shouldn't say this.

Oh, heck, I will.

I wonder as I wonder how much of an impact the steroid issue had on Carolina's Super Bowl run and whether we're seeing the impact of steroids with respect to this current team.

Could it be that Carolina benefited from steroid use and now that the team and its players have been heavily scrutinized they're not as good now because they're not getting that "little extra" by way of supplements?

Again, I don't know this to be true. I just wonder.

No need to correct. He WAS accepted from the start. He created his exit. Literally and personally.

It is a little compelling though: one thing when a year or two are involved, maybe another when it starts to get out to 4 and more.

Your argument has a slight flaw...
