Eventhough the TO deal seems likely, I'd still like to have Keyshawn back in the offense. He really earned his star....when I think of him, I'll always consider him a Cowboy.

Anyone think resigning Key is possible?

It's possible. He did say that any contract he considers, he will give the Cowboys first chance to match it.

Keyshawn has said that whomever offers him a contract, he will give the Cowboys a chance to match it. He said he has no ill will towards us and he wouldnt mind at all coming back, even with TO.

What's it going to be then, eh?

He has been rejected by several teams like the Jets and Panthers.

It is doubtful the Giants or Seahawks will be able to offer him a palatable contract.

It could happen if he gets desperate enough. I still think he ends up in New England however. Just a feeling.

Don't know if Key and TO could exist on the same team. We only play with 1 ball and 4 quarters.

Anything's possible, but the clock is ticking. With the likes of Randle El and Bryant getting snatched up and signed to outlandish contracts, what's stopping Johnson from getting picked up by another team before we can get him re-signed?

I really dont think key comes back. I wish he would, but i really thing the decision has been made to see what crayton can bring to the table on a regular basis. Neither TO or Glenn are spring chickens and I think they really want to evaluate Crayton as a regular player to see what kind of WR we need to get next year. JMO.

I really hope Keyshawn is back for at least this year. What a SOLID group we would have with:

T.O/Glenn/Johnson/Crayton

DO IT!

The only thing about comparing Keyshawn's situation to those of Randle El, Lloyd, and Givens is that those three are in their mid-late 20s. Keyshawn will be 34 this season.

Keyshawn who is now turning into Meshawn with his mouth will leave no stone unturned before giving the Cowboys a chance. I think if we sign TO, we need to get another receiver through the draft. Eventually, we need to start getting younger!!

True, but imo, Johnson's receiving abilities are better than Bryant's or El's--all three of which were/are free agency players. Lloyd came to Commanders via a trade with the 49ers. Lloyd's and Johnson's situations are not comparable for that reason, imo.

I won't argue that - Keyshawn is definitely the best pure receiver. But they have more upside (one of those dreaded words along with "potential"). And considering his age, I just don't see a team giving him as much money as those guys (and definitely not the same contract length, but that's obvious).

Agreed. The FA money is drying up and Johnson's not going to see the money (pun intended). But, with teams paying crazy contracts for wide receivers with less dependability, I can't see Johnson NOT being added to someone's roster.

Wasn't sure about Keyshawn but have grown to love his willingness do everything to help Cowboys win and really like him now. Have mixed feelings about bringing him back if we sign TO. I'd like to see Crayton get some more playing time so we can find out if he is a legit #3. But behind Crayton we have essentially nothing. Copper caught 1 pass the whole season & Crowder only played on ST. If any of our starters go down, will happens then? I don't want to be caught short if we making SB run. I think Keyshawn's role in this new situation must be agreed upon before he resigned cause he's not going to get the playing time he previously had barring injuries. If he can accept whatever his role turns out to be, I'd love to have him back. Keyshawn has become one of my favorite Cowboys. If he doesn't come back, I wish him well but not against us.

i don't see kj accepting the role he would have if he came back. i mean we only activate 4 wr's so thats t.o.,glenn,and crayton, with copper for st's. where does that leave kj? or do you deactivate crayton? don't see that pappening. there is just not room for a 4th wr on this team who demands playing time and the ball. would be nice insurance but would spell the end for crayton

:laugh2:

Maybe this means we restructure LAs contract instead of releasing him. The first time TO goes after somebody, LA steps in and thumps him into the turf. OK, maybe TO ain't Cortez, but LA can still handle him

I know how Parcells feels about special teams players, but with Owens, Johnson, Glenn and Crayton as your top 4 WRs, I suspect Copper would be shown the door.

Bledsoe must be salivating at the potential of having that type of receiving corps to work with.....if we add Jerald Sowell who can catch the football out of the backfield, plus witten running seams down the middle of the field and this offense will be unstoppable!
