Now Cowboys release Keyshawn because:
They didn't want to play him the extra money, knoing they have to sign Terrell Owens
The Dallas Cowboys know that they might have to get into a bidding war with teams for him, so they releasing Keyshawn Johnson for the time being just to see how much Terrell Owens going to cost...
I believe if he signs to the right price the Cowboys could very well see Keyshawn and Owen co-existing

^just my perspective on things...:star:

I honestly don't think Key is coming back. We had enough money to keep him and sign TO if we want.

I disagree they would of just restructured Key, why tick him off and make him a FA for a lousy 1.5 million. I think its more likely they want to go in a different direction at WR.

It wasn't his current contract the Cowboys were concerned with but rather the one Keyshawn was going to demand. Best to release him now and be on their way.

once he testes the market he'll be back at the vets min + incentives. not too much demand for aging possesion wr's in this league.

I agree. I don't think we should assume that this means that a TO signing is imminent. While it could happen, this was a business decision by the Cowboy's front office. Having said this, we can now assume that a signing by the Cowboys will come any minute. :D

Actually I read someplace that the Pats had inquired about Keyshawn's availability earlier today/late yesterday. They interested since they lost Givens.

Key personally said he understands. It was going to happen regardless due to Keys desire for more $. But there are no ill wills here. Both sides pretty much would agree that they let him test the market to see what hes worth and have dallas match it. Key would have never played next year with his current contract.(well not so current anymore.) Parcells loves Key and would never let him go if he thought they, in the very least, didnt have a shot at him coming back. And I personally , due to his attitude, think Key loves playing here. I am not saying this or that will happen, but the odds arent all that bad, even if T.O. does end up here. Let the chips fall where they may. And FA isnt over so have some faith even if we dont have anything to persuade us in that direction as of yet. Tomorrow should prove to be very interesting and we shall hide and watch.
