"I'm not going to blow a guy up and make him a star, and I'm not going to bury a guy," said Johnson, the No. 1 overall pick in 1996. "I'm just not into that. I'm not going spend every week talking about Terrell Owens. (Bleep) him. He's not that important to me, for me to go in every week and talk about him. Unless he goes and does something crazy, then everyone is talking about him and you have no choice. But I'm not going to continue to talk about him and make him into something bigger than what he really is. He's not that big. He's a (bleeping) receiver, you know?"

So people on the board get mad at the media and ESPN because they start off every day talking about TO when there isn't a story thre, and now they get mad at Keyshawn for saying he's not going to talk about TO if there isn't a story there?

He's not that important to me, for me to go in every week and talk about him. Unless he goes and does something crazy, then everyone is talking about him and you have no choice.

Translate: I'm not going to talk about him if he puts on a Lance Armstrong bike jersey, but I'll probably have to talk about him the next time he swallows a bottle of pain pills.

theogt,

With the title you choose, maybe you should work for ESPN. :laugh1:

I think they are mad that he is talking about not talking about him which in reality is him talking about him.

The irony is that Keyshawn is creating a TO story by doing this. I guess it's not really irony because Key knew that was exactly what he was doing, which is why he did it.

All Key is basically saying is he's not going to talk about TO the next time he puts on a Lance Armstrong bike jersey, but he will talk about him the next time he swallows a bottle of pain pills.

:bang2:

Nobody is mad that he dosent want to talk about him....its that hes trying to throw in little disses...and making rude comments (bleep him) is that necessary? obviously hes mad, that he had a worthless career in the NFL...hes mad that we took TO over him..and teams keep keep kicking him off there squad....he showed pay back the money he robbed from the NFL...

I would love to not hear about T.O. 24/7, but...

This is why I'm kind of surprised ESPN got Keyshawn. I've heard him start to drop f-bombs like crazy totally out of the blue like this before. A couple of times he was interviewed on local radio in a totally respectful manner, not even talking about anything controversial, and boom, ***-this, ***-that. He's kind of got a screw loose.

Just like Charles Barkley.

And aside from a handful of TO apologists, this could be the most applauded statement from a ESPN talking head in decades.

Guess it is something that is an issue considering the source of the quote. Barkley would always make outlandish comments about Allen Iverson when he first got his job as a talking head, and who came after him to be the star in Philly?

Well, Key left and now TO is here, and it is the same situation here. If you don't want to talk about him, don't bring him up, lol, course Key holds a similar grudge against Marvin Harrison and such (guys with the stats and speed he wishes he had).

I like the use of Barkley here cause in some way Key trying to be Barkleyish, problem is he ain't no where near as funny. Plus Barkley will admit his faults and even says he never played defense and it is his biggest regret, meanwhile Key tells us how speed is overrated, lol.
