two things stood out to me

1.....Cards expected to lose OT Leonard Davis to Dallas

2.....The Chiefs are signing players like mad...yes most of them were their own players, but they signed a handful of other teams players....looks like KC isnt playing around or resting on their laurels.

The chiefs still need a lot of work- their D is about half done, and now their old O line needs to be rebuilt. They SHOULD be busy.

WOW!!!

Seriously, WOW. Tons of interesting nuggets in there.

-Giants releasing Emmons, Arrington, AND Petitgout? I'm surprised by all but Arrington.

-Will Shields to retire? KC's running game is going to be a disaster if they don't start drafting OL.

-Bengals might release Deltha O'Neal? That might make him the best CB on the market.

-Gary Baxter will be a great nickel back for someone.

-Brown's want LSU's Russel, hrm? I didn't think Charlie Frye was that bad last year.

-Colts losing Mike Doss could be big. He's a solid safety, and will be a higher end FA on the market.

Free agency could be very interesting this year.

Now we need a playmaker that can catch it.

Don't get me wrong, jr. I was as disappointed with some of T.O.'s drops as anyone. But, the one factor that people tend to forget about Owens' presence on the field is what he takes away from a defense. Without the threat of Owens on one side of the field, a defense can bring 8 men into the box at will. That bodes horribly for our offense as a whole. If we can't keep JJ and Barber churning out yardage, we are dead in the water. Bring 8 men into the box with Owens and Glenn onthe field and it's almost certain suicide. Either one can beat single coverage (although, Glenn is the better of the two at it). Cna Glenn or Owens be covered one on one? Of course, but you won't make a living out of it with either one. A pair of legit "superstars" split wide out is a keystone to the offensive success we had last year.

Even the line that we sported last year wasn't astronomically better than the one we fielded a year before that, yet we were 3rd overall in league scoring. To dismiss that Owens didn't have a major impact on that factor is to blindly hate on a player, and completely ignore the "game within the game". Owens would have been even more proficient for this offense without the infamous drops, sure. But the T.O. snubs by many are ridiculous (and that includes the Pro Bowl).

Just as a side note:how is it that Steve Smith made the Pro Bowl with 2 fewer catches, 16 fewer yards, 5 fewer TDs and, one less drop than T.O.? The bias against the guy is obvious. Did he bring alot of this onto himself? Sure. But the Pro Bowl is about the best of the best. Smith played second fiddle to Owens all year long, yet he's the WR that represents? Puh-lease.

After reading this post you probably figure that I'm a huge T.O. supporter. The fact is that I, honestly, can't stand the dude. But, I'm smart enough to look at things with objective and analytical point of view. And, when it comes to what T.O. did (and didn't, on more levels than one) bring to the Dallas Cowboys, the view quite often, is distorted by like/dislike for the character rather than the impact as a player by virtually every poster here.

2 drops that cost 2 big games.

11-5 to 9-7.

Yea ........ that was the only things that cost us in those games?

Missing easy fieldgoals and our D stopping noone with a few secs left had nothing to do with it .....

Rams | Coakley could get cut
Sun, 11 Feb 2007 12:07:19 -0800
<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/125">John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports St. Louis Rams LB Dexter Coakley could get cut this offseason.
Sign him, and then immediately trade him to OAK for their 1st rounder.

My playmakers win games and back up their mouths, not just pile up numbers.

Then you have no playmakers on the Boys ...... cause all of them made stupid mistakes and disapeared at times this year ...

I am not tying to get in a pissing match with ya jack ..... But T.O. did not "cost" us any more games this year than Romo, Glenn, or our defense .....

we failed as a team .....
